    How far would you travel?

    Hi guys,

Could I get your advice, please?

How far would you travel to meet a potential client, if they had the deposit ready for your services? My girlfriend thinks the customer is pulling the strings if they don't at least meet
    me halfway.

But before, I've always travelled as far as it takes, even if it meant driving all the way to the customer, but is that setting a weak precedent?

    Thank you in advance ;-)

It really depends on the budget and the deal. Anyways, you can always talk to your client online.

Any where anytime if the only way you will ever succeed... with that being said if you have any thoughts that the trip is not work it then maybe this person would not make a good client.

    Agree with the post #2

It depends on whether or not the job is worth it in the end. I'm not going to spend $1000 traveling to the other side of the US if the job only pays $1000. Maybe if I was just starting up and hoping that this job would turn into future jobs or that word of mouth with this customer may results in many more jobs.

I think, it depends on how hungry you are for your success and how much you believe in your dream! Its all about how much you want to be successful and are you willing to make the sacrifice to be that person you know you are!

Very much depends on the industry. If you stand to make $500 or less on a deal and its more than a couple hours, I'd say nay.

Are you suggesting to him to travel or to not travel?

You can be hungry for success and realize that traveling out of the way for someone who may be more of a headache then anything else isn't worth it. Or you can be hungry enough that you're willing to bend over backwards to make the sale even if it means you have to deal with an un-cooperative client.

I agree that sacrifices have to be made to be successful, but I think we all have different views on what is successful and what is not. I had a long chat with my girlfriend last night comparing what each of us think is "successful" and we had completely different answers.

I've learned that having those kinds of chats with people of the opposite gender are never helpful, the views are always different. Ha ha

I would travel pretty far just for traveling.
