Help with my first project...

Hello again everyone. I wanted to ask for advice on an idea I had for a beginning project for my business.

Here in San Antonio we have an event sort of like a festival or street fair the first Friday of every month. It's held in a large and ever expanding portion of our downtown area, and the streets are crowded with the many people who attend for all sorts of reasons ranging from just an evening out, to supporting a local bands, performing, setting up a "booth", shop around, etc. The vendors that line the streets are everything from persons who sell jewlery, purses, t-shirts, etc. to artists selling their paintings, to bands and sings performing. (I'd estimate there to be about 450 - 500 people that visit, and about 50 vendors, bands, etc.)

I had an idea to create a website that would function in a way similar to a classied ad listing space, but soley for the vendors at this event. I'm hoping giving them another inexpensive form of advertisement and doing business would help maximize their profits by providing them a place to set up shop 24/7 rather than only five or six hours one night out of every month.

I'm still debating how to best set up how to charge by what I'm offering, and I have a few rough ideas including possibly creating package deals; limiting number of items per page, and charging by page; the posibilities of monthly fees vs. one time set up fee.

As far as market research, it was easy to point out my target market, and in a way, I even know the market of my target market. I was thinking to further my research I would go to the next first Friday, and talk with many of the vendors about what they think of the possibility of paying a fee for advertisemnt and help in maximizing profits, what price range would they feel comfortable with, what would be their deciding factors in whether or not they'd consider the idea, and what they'd like to have offered to them.

Any ideas, comments, advice about the viability of this idea, and ways to improve different points would be much appreciated. Thank you very much.
