I've checked online for low cost start-ups but, it's for things like in home businesses like web page design (which I don't know how to do) or dog poop cleaning businesses.

I guess what I'm asking is what kind of businesses did you start and with how much?

Thanks!
Hi Lisa,
Based on my experience, every business have their own risk. Mostly the high risk give the high profit for the investor. For successful businessman, their problem is not about the risk itself but how to anticipate or minimize the risk or to put them to another person shoulder. For beginner, it's better if you start a small business.

Lisa, may I where are you now?
As manager of furniture manufacture in indonesia, we have a development program to guide new business partner in another country to start their own business.
It's free program. If you are qualify to be our partner, we will supply hundreds of furniture and continually free sample for you. So you can run your first business soon.
Just contact me if you are interest.

Regards.

Since you asked for advice, I will help you figure out ways to determine your profession.

First: On paper, write down the 6 things you enjoy doing (hobbies, interests etc.)
second: Out of those 6, take away the items that require anything more than a 2K investment.
Third: From there, select your favorite one from the remaining list and do more research on that item.

See if there is a demand for it via Google searches or affiliate offers. If there is, then you have your product.

No matter what business you decide to start, you will be nervous at first and that is OK. It is completely normal. You do not need a website to tell you what business you should have. I think that is poor advice. Make sure you are passionate about your product/service. For that is only way you will have the ability to be successful with your new business.

I hope this helps you in some sort of way.

Ty

You are my new best poster. If you want to succeed in business do it with what you have passion for. That passion is going to be needed in the hard times and that passion usually mean you understand that passion well and have a handle on what is going on in the market.

Just an idea.. I'd only do it if it's a true passion though, since it takes a LOT of passion, networking and determination to build up your regular clientelle.
It does only take about $800-1500 and 16+ weeks to be come a trainer. At least where I'm from. That would be a fun one

I hear a lot of people going the "buy wholesale stuff and resell" route. Unfortunately, that's what pretty much everyone is doing. I recommend you ask yourself what you enjoy doing that you could profit from, be it sports clothes or whatever. Just some advice.

Ugh!

Buying stuff wholesale and reselling is really risky unless you're really good at knowing what will sell

But please...don't do the blogging and adwords thing. That's beyond over done!

Sit in a quiet corner and think about what makes you- YOU! The answer for your buisness will come to you.

If you like reading books why not create a Book Review Site?

You can load it up with Affiliate Links from Borders, etc..

For only 2000.00, your most likely going to have to start at home first.

Also as others have said, find what your passion is and try and build something off that.

Your going to need to manage your money very well though, because you'll need to buy inventory, advertise, and much more. Just do some google searches for some ideas.

The best way to start a business is to know which field can you excel and which business idea can make you productive enough in handling the account. You can also put more emphasis on the target market which is under your interest and resources because it can be easy for you to explore the Dos and DONTs the more you enjoy working out your business.
