Why rely on existing employers for our happiness and success?

I've been reading story after story about individuals who are trying to find work in today's economy. Many of these are people without a job and many of which have a college degree and experience in the field they are applying to. I think back to the great entrepreneurs from long ago who overcame bad economic times...those who rather than give in to being kept down by bad economic times, found those times to be the catalyst for their own self empowerment and to begin their successful organizations.

This has me thinking about our economy and feel that this is our time to prove ourselves... to provide hope to those who are suffering today, looking for work. I can't help but feel that this is my time to begin a business and provide others with hope and work. I would love to begin a business that would allow me to hire anyone who is willing to work.

I don't know what the business would be. I have a few ideas of potential businesses. One thing is for sure, for those who are positions to begin a new business, there are extremely well educated and experienced individuals who are hungry for work. There is no better time than now to be an employer looking for talent.

Does anyone else feel this way? Would anyone else like to have input on this discussion and provide your thoughts as well?

Rather than wait for someone to provide us with our dream jobs, let's work together and each person bring their own set of skills and aspirations to the table. I know that collectively there would be plenty of knowledge and efforts to make something substantial.
