Where to find grants!?

Hi,

My company will be printing the first issue of our magazine on September 15th and need a grant of $3000 for our printing. I say grant specifically because loans are easy to obtain through various Canadian government programs.

Any idea where I should look for a grant??

To be completely honest.. Im going into my second year of university and my dad said these exact words to me just an hour ago...

"If you take a loan Im not paying for school." soo uhh yea.. hmmm. lol.

..but he never said anything about a grant!

Well, here in the states you can get grants from both the state and federal governments. They can be pretty large amounts too. The downside is the time it takes to get them, the amount of paperwork, and the stringent requirements. Can't really say much about how this works in Canada though.

If I were you, given that you're printing a magazine, I'd try to get corporate sponsors. What's the magazine about? Call up businesses related to the magazine, give them some sort of advertisement, and let them sponsor you. You'd be surprised how much money large companies set aside for "community involvement" projects.
