The idea is there, the potential is there, It could be bigger than you think.

    Hello all,

    Hi all,

My name is Ashley, and I am from the UK. I am seeking some guideance, advice, business partner, investors for an idea which could possibly change lives by giving others opportunities too success.

    Everybody wants to be noticed.

Recently, I have been planning and noting ideas on how, and what I could to do to give others this chance.

Similar to a very successful website, only, my idea will target and benefit musicians, actors, comedians, and dancers. My idea is to set up and promote a website which allows ourselves, agents and companies to identify and NOTICE talent.

The brief information given here is only the minium of my idea. Could you be interested in giving me advice, guideance on how I could make an idea like this successful?

An idea like this is too big for myself to make happen by myself. Unfortuantly I am limited to what I know but if I could gain interest from others to help guide me to find others who will help make this happen I would be greatful.

    Your feedback would be appreciated.

    hii..
    nope..your problem definition is broken
    there is no opportunity here

namely, talent scouts at record labels don't have a problem finding talent..because talent finds them
talent scouts don't troll around myspace looking for emerging artists
they go to gigs, listen to live bands or open their email to read pitches from artists
it's a self reinforcing system: if the talent is worth finding, they'll reach out to the label directly
if they don't, then there is no reason to find them in the first place

you need to reformulate the problem you are solving

Just to piggyback off the above,

Identify a truly frustrated need then provide a solution . You wont go wrong.

I'll say that I entirely disagree with the two first responses, but only because the entertainment industry has been and is still going through a very large transformation and, at the moment, no one really knows for a fact where that industry's future will go.

Youtube, blogging, torrents and cost effective SEO all help in revolutionizing the resource that is fame. If you were to focus your company correctly you could direct the entertainment industry toward a similar direction the world of real estate sales is currently going in. That is to say, you can succeed by inflating the celebrity population, thinning the talent scout population, and lowering the whole industry's total yearly worth in an effort to take it over.

How would you do this? Your site has to launch as the talent scout, manager, agent, label and main store. Your business structure would have to handle all those departments and do it better than the ones that do it currently.

Can it be done? Yes, but only by doing the things the other companies and celebrities do not want to do. You'd have to inflate the number of celebrities produced per year, and this would be done by lowering the industry standard for compensation to those new celebrities, lowering the standards for profit made for the company per celebrity.

You'd need custom software that makes it easy and clean to index a variety of talent into genres that people can list on and/or seek out. It would be very important that it is simple and yet accommodating of many different interests, which will not be easy.
