Fact: In 2010, according to the California Student Aid Commission, the yearly costs of "books and supplies" are estimated at $1,620 for each student who will take up to four classes per semester, for two semesters.

Problem: Many of the "required" materials that are purchased by students go unused. Thus, students spend money wastefully.

Solution: BookDecay.com, a website that helps college students avoid unnecessary textbook purchases by providing a place for peers to discuss how professors use their "required" materials. After reading reviews, students will also be able to use the site to purchase the books they need.

This start-up is looking for initial seed stage funding. For more info, please e-mail BookDecay [at] gmail [dot] com.
