Ferry pilot, Aerobatic pilot, CFI, SPI, skydiver, well, anything that has to do with aviation.AND the worlds Greatest Dad to a perfect 9yr old. Family first.
Glyn, equity finance doesn't really work this way.
Equity finance is more nuanced.
Look...it works like this...find a number of successful airplane entrepreneurs in your area. Ask them to join your advisory board in exchange for helping them leave a legacy, transfer their skills to the new generation of founders (trust me, they'll understand what that means), and equity. Then, tap your advisory board for pitching opportunities.
Keep this in mind, the worst thing you can do is sell your equity to some industry outsider who has more money than sense. This will make your company untouchable as far as future funding rounds go. Really...since you're into planes, I shouldn't have to explain these things. You're smarter than that. Stop being a doofus and quit offering equity to strangers who are ill qualified to own it.

ha, love straight forward answers. true, i have to many connections in the aviation community to worry about finding someone to fill the bill. BUT, since i do deal with pilots, most are honestly pricks and very tight on money. the deal with " lsa " airplanes is that i am dealing with everyday people, these are just 2 man aircraft that a blue collar worker could afford. not an airplane that cost 600,000.
i would have to go into great detail to explain the difference but trust me. it's allowing allot of people that couldn't fly in the past, now they can.
it's allot smaller scale that what i think you are thinking of.
granted, i will be the sole distributor of the aircraft, plus i will open a skydiving school, training center, and rentals. those are just perks, the distributorship is the big deal.
your very right though, i may sound dumb in asking the simple questions. to be honest, I'm just now getting out there and looking for money. I've been getting everything else in order.
i had a gentleman that was going to be my financial backing and he's a fellow pilot. after he said that he was good for the money i started setting things in motion. now he has backed out and i have people wanting to see and fly the airplane. i have buyers and don't have the company built yet. kinda good but now I'm freaking out a bit.

Great advice. not the best economy to seek outside investors in an industry that is as popular as banks right now.
a plane enthusiast however will be interested in the sexiness of the opportunity.
and being on the board. HELLO. sounds like a potential marriage for a Guld Stream owner's ego.
Find sites where private jet enthusiasts corral. Loads of luck.
It can happen with the right people.
