I am creating a new website that will have users register on a site and advertisers as well. The users get paid 0.005 cents for every friend/follower they have at the time when they post a status/tweet. This is for Facebook/Twitter/Myspace. However, an advertiser's campaign cost 1 cent per friend/follower. Therefore someone with 10,000 followers and posts a status from an advertiser, the profit would be $50.00 and so would the user. I'm going to have to agree with Akula on this one. There are at least 500+ identical sites to what you explained above out there already and 499 of them aren't making any money. No one is going to pay $100 for a tweet to 10,000 followers. Maybe $2-$3. I have 4,000+ followers and I doubt more than 15 of them read my tweets. There's literally 3 tweets per second going past my homepage and the chances of someone reading my tweet, being interested in my product, and then actually buying whatever I had to sell are 1/100,000.

Take into consideration that there are (at most) 100 of those 4,000 followers online at the time I'm sending out that tweet.

These sites charge advertisers for just the tweets....my company will redirect them through my site and they'll only pay for clicks.

I realized that, but I was unable to locate those other sites originally which could also be a problem to their sales problems. Those sites made me realize that sites want guaranteed traffic rather than exposure and luck.
