    Reliable MicroLenders

Does anybody have a list of Reliable and Legitimate Microlenders? I've been on a few websites and always get worried about the need to submit an app. with my social security number to these places that don't have any branch locations or aren't larger banks.

Prosper and Lending Club are both reputable and SEC registered.

You can also try microloans throught the SBA. You deal with brick and mortar locations locally. Start at the SBA website to find the microlenders. Be forewarned, the criteria to qualify is the same as a regular loan.

You might also try Preneuraholics.com (launching this month). See blog below.

Okay... well apparently I don't qualify for Prosper because of a lack of credit history. What other funding options do I have? I only need $8000.

If you don't meet the credit score requirement at Prosper you can forget about SBA microloans.

Check out my blog below for another funding option. Credit history is not a factor. We intend to help fund those with great business plans but are short on funds. Peer to peer GIVING!

The only problem there is I need this pretty much by Monday, or the whole idea is dead. I'm trying to do a simple small concert, and need money for insurance and to pay a 50% deposit for the bands. I still need to submit the contract to the venue; which needs about a month to approve the contract and I want to have the show on January 2nd, so I'm technically already over by a few days. In order to submit the contract, I need the insurance.

Ha ha. Well, can't help you there. There is no way you can raise $8000 from reliable microlenders over the weekend. Tony Soprano available?
Sorry, didn't mean to make light of your plight.

Your only options then are FFF (friends, family, or fools). If you need $8000 in 3 days, why on earth would you post this on a forum? There is no one in their right mind who would lend you $8000 without due diligence. you better stick with those you know.

Which isn't going to happen, I've already tried this route, and nobodies willing. The most I can get about $1000.

Well I just worked it out where I can get by on $2500. So I'd only need to come up another $800 (found $1700). Are there any loans out there that I could secure with owned assets? I have a camera and some other equipment that could total about $1000. And who would give an asset-backed loan for that low of an amount?
