I could be wrong, but I have never thought of this as a place to "do" business, but rather discuss how to do business. Best of luck!

There are a few lurkers in the crowd that have the resources to fund but the good ideas are few and far between. And the great ideas require too much. I've seen a few really great ideas come through here but the majority is very nascent plans that no one in their right mind would consider funding.

If the quality of the ideas and planning was raised, I think this board could attract more serious investors. What do you think?

I've said this before here, but I started off by meeting with stock brokers, financial planners, and even look to local colleges and find out when successful business owners are speaking and talk with them. If you have a good idea and most importantly the drive, they'll all know someone with money if not themselves. Always, because they usually get a finders fee. When speaking with them, talk like you are the man/woman and you know that you are gonna make it. They have to believe that you can. That is the best way to find investors. Just make sure you have a good idea.

I can say I have sort of got funding through this forum - I started a thread asking for other investors (up to 10), along with me, to invest $1500 each in a online 'fund' which would then be invested in online businesses.

I haven't yet received the money because details need to be discussed with all potential investors but at least one person (from this forum) looks likely to invest. I've also had other interested parties on other forums where I posted my idea.
