Hi,
I will be opening a hookah lounge based out of Loveland, Co. We will be located in the well known Outlets at Loveland strip mall. What makes this hookah lounge different from other lounges is that it will be based on Shiazo Steam Stones. Additionally, we will be offering 1 hookah with a single hose per person instead of sharing a single hose.
So the facility I will be using is 4500 sq. ft and about 4k of that will be lounge area. The parking is endless and it is easily accessed from the interstate and the highway with signage from both. The lounge itself will be based on a unique pricing structure: (however each bowl will last twice as long as a traditional tobacco based bowl) charging per bowl, refill price, a two bowl option and an unlimited bowl option. There will also be a VIP membership for a monthly cost that will generate discounts on bowls and merchandise and a Platinum membership for those that want unlimited bowls all month as well as the discounts. In addition to our bowls we will offer both snacks and drinks (non-alcoholic).
I have contacted all the necessary suppliers and have made accounts and thus gathered pricing from them. I have also gathered all rent, payroll, equipment, insurance, and advertising costs. The market analysis has been done personally by myself and not only are the numbers astounding, but my local competition is actually routing for me to open due to the large number of people they are unable to serve because of such a demand for hookah.
As far as permits and legal fees go I have already registered the business as an LLC and have all necessary legal documents and filings done. Due to the nature of the product being consumed (steam) there are no special permits or licenses needed and I will be opening under the retail category with a maximum occupancy of 100 people and plan on immediately filing for an A3 Assembly category in order to bump the maximum occupancy after opening the doors but it is known to take months to gain an A3 category thus the reason to open as retail.
All said and done the doors can be opened in about 3 weeks time assuming funding is acquired. The reason I am posting today is because I am 21 and have "insufficient credit card history" and am unable to receive any type of loan and my family and friends have no extra money. As far as funding goes I have broken start up into 3 phases depending on the amount of funding I am able to acquire. The first phase would require $75k to open and would be bare bones, the second phase would be $100k and would be comparable to my local competition, while $150k would be my vision for the lounge. The biggest differences in phases will be furniture, store inventory, draperies, lighting, and security.
I would love to speak with any interested investors and answer any question that I can, I have break downs in spread sheets as well as a complete business plan that I can send those interested.
Thanks in advance for the help and support,
Alex Barr

P.S. I have a background in graphic design and website development so the website is built, the graphics for the social networks have been done and of course the logo is complete so there will be no additional cost associated with those things and social media will be a driving force behind my marketing strategy.
