    New Business Idea-Looking Business Advice!

Hello, my name is Ben and I am trying to introduce our company's brand new service, 1 Hour DVD Delivery. My Movies, LLC is a DVD rental company located just outside of Ft. Lauderdale and is only 20 minutes away from Miami.

My Movies, LLC is an unprecedented DVD rental service which offers movies and concessions delivered to your home or place of employment in 1 Hour. The DVD rental industry is in a current state of confusion, embarked by a cluster of new companies attempting to cash-in on the predicted $600-900 million said by (WHO) to be "up for grabs" in 2008. In lue of the current economic situation in the United States, My Movies has created a low budget service with tremendous growth potential while competitor's are doing just the opposite. Companies such as Sony, Microsoft, Apple, and Netflix/LG are debuting set-top boxes, however these renting formats lack conformity and an easy ordering median, but do require inconveniences such as: high rental and purchase fees, steep device costs, scattered motion picture, and most importantly limited inventory and movie libraries. My Movies 1Hour delivery service exceeds the current industry leader Netflix in regards to existing online rental services while offering several new financial streams for worried studios and other severly troubled rental companies.

My Movies takes pride in offering: (1)a DVD rental service delivering to your home or place of employment in an hour, (2)an aesthetically pleasing site (1HourMovies.com) introducing a distinctive member administration panel, chat capabilities, reviews, and movie trailers (3)a toll-free DVD rental hotline (1-877-MY-DVDS) or (1-877-769-3837) to order rentals from or find information about movies(4)concessions and refreshments available with delivery service.

To find out more about our company or to give us any feedback regarding our services please visit our website or contact benh@1hourmovies.com

Sounds like a good idea for the 1 hour service...How else do you market the idea besides this forum?

Im sorry I just think this idea is not good. There are too many other options that people have now and not only that but with the cost of gas how can you possibly offer competitive prices ???

Hello, well i posted the first part of our business plan this time, because I wanted to get the right info out to you. Despite the criticism, we still feel that his idea will work and we want to get people taling about us. So far this forum has been commenting on us, and we have been advertising in the local newspapers. Fortunately for us there are some BIG business people that agree with us, which is why we just received the capital we were looking for. We are glad to see people thinking about the tribulations of our ideas because it has opened our minds to future problems. Our company is going to get much bigger in the next few months alone, so hopefully people will be hearing about 1 Hour Movies outside of this forum. We would like tobe able to say that some of you are correct regarding future technology of movie renting and viewing, but if you do research the experts are agreeing that downloading, streaming, and set-top boxes are at least seven years away. We feel that we have found the new and easy way to rent, but we expect people to disagree, hey I'm quite sure people had the same reaction when the computer first came out, people probably thought it wouldn't work or there wasn't a demand, but look at the world now. Thanks For the Input.

P.S. In the last month alone since we have launched our website and our delivery service we have gained almost fifty new unlimited monthy members to our business. That's fantastic in our eyes without spending a dollar on advertising yet. We will be back to post soon!!

Call me crazy, but I like it. Clean it up a bit and you could make a great story about the franchise opportunities, stores in every major market, being on the forefront of digital distribution, etc, etc.

This business model was used with a lot of products during the .com bubble. Can't remember the name of the company, but that tells you how well it worked.

    Hello,
Well we understand that people are going to question new ideas, new thoughts, and new risks. We must have found something though because in the last few weeks our phones have been ringing off the hook. People are trying to fund our software needs, people are trying to give us money for any hardware needs we may have. The phones have mainly been ringing from people wondering about our membership plans, a lot of people just can't believe that there is finally an entertainment delivery medium. Hey, if our company doesn't ever expand to other cities, or we don't get bought out from a huge company, then we are happy to service this area alone because it will be ridiculously lucritive with a population of 6 million in Miami alone. Even if we only get one percent (1&#37 of people in the next few years before downloading becomes the major technology of movie renting to come, that would be 60,000 members paying anywhere from $9.99 to 24.99 a month in this area alone. We think that is very attainable in this area considering Netflix grew to 7 million members in less than 7 years and we didn't even include Ft. Lauderdale, Hollywood, Dania, Pembroke Pines, or Coral Springs. A small business like us would be very happy grossing close to a million dollars a month.

We have recently been very busy getting ready for our new kiosk to open in one of our local malls. We are going to use this kiosk to sell memberships as well as retail movie themed items, and to help people undertand our services and our strive to utilize the latest technology to help enhance their home entertainment. The kiosk is going to be set up like a miniature movie theatre, with two 32 inch flat screens on oppsoite sides and purple curtains draped from the top. The end cap will have a 26 inch dell flat screen for logging onto our website and showing people how to rent movies to be delivered to them. The flat-screen tv's will be showing current movie trailers mixed with our commercial and other company images all tied together as a slide show. We have spent a great deal of money in the last few weeks gearing up for the new kiosk opening so we decided to do the same with the website. GEEKS ON STEROIDS is currently redesigning our website and it will be a full 3-D flash site with all the trimmings, and it should be for the price we are paying. We will be back to share our progress.

    Thank You for reading!
