    Generation Y -
Sounds like you are getting a great response so maybe I am the only one with some questions but here they go anyways. What is your company doing? Are you having only a two person board or do you already have others involved? Is there a reason besides personal preference for the person to be over 21?

I have always known at least something about a company before I sent in a resume. Do you have a website or something so I can see what I would be applying for?

    thanks

Jake thank you for your reply. I am happy to answer your questions.

    What is your company doing?

Currently the company is not even a company. I am in the process creating the company, which includes finding qualified people to be part of the operations. The plan is to have the company fall within the agriculture sector. Agriculture encompasses many activities. The activities the company chooses to participate in will be based on the amount of investment, potential revenue, and the costs of the activities. Costs include consulting and training cost do to a lack of knowledge of operating activities so experience in agriculture is important.

Are you having only a two person board or do you already have others involved?

The company will start with a three person board, myself and two other people. Although, if I could find three extremely qualified people, I would be happy to just be a majority share holder. After all, this is about doing what is best for the company and not about giving myself a title. The board will consist of a CEO, CFO, and a Secretary. All qualified people are encouraged to apply for any of the three board positions.

Is there a reason besides personal preference for the person to be over 21?

The logic behind the age and citizenship requirements is to minimize the risk of having a high ranking officer who is legally unable to preform his or her job. Although, to truly minimize this risk the age requirement should be more like 25, but when someone is over the age of 21 most age restrictive laws no longer apply. When it comes to personal preference I could careless about where someone is from or their age. I want the most qualified people but the person has to legally be able to preform their job. I am willing to keep resumes on file of people who are legally able to work in the United States but do not meet the age requirement for other job opportunities.

    Do you have a website?

Currently the company dose not exist so there is no website but I am happy to answer questions in this forum or via e-mail at generationy11@y mail.com (no space between the y and mail in my e-mail address :-)).

I hope to hear from you soon.

    What I am looking for...

I would like to address a few concerns that some people mentioned in their cover letter. I think some people were sightly reserved about applying because they did not think they would be qualified for the job. So let me tell you what I am looking for when it comes to potential candidates. I want some one who is willing to learn and then able to teach others what he or she has learned. I want people who believes in innovation, real innovation. To many companies will put up a big sign with a list of company values and almost every company will list innovation as one of their top values. And in almost every case when someone tries to implement a new idea it atomically gets shot down. If you are one of these pretend innovators then this is not the company for you. If innovation is just a word on a poster that no one cares about because change is just to hard, then this job is not for you. But if you believe innovation occurs when everyone is allowed express there opinion regardless of how obscure the idea might be viewed, then this is likely the company for you. The company that I am trying to create is a company made up of people who are willing to find the hard answers to difficult problems by trying new ideas, maybe one might even call them crazy ideas. The point is I want doers not complainers.

Here is a popular story about Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, And Nobody

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.

There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.

Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.

Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.

Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.

It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done

Like I said before I want this to be a company filled with unique individuals who know how to find solutions to difficult challenges. Notice that I never said you had to have 20 years experience and I never said you had to have a MBA from some over price University. I just want some one who can relate to others and can get the job done.

Feel free to continue to send your resumes in until 11:59 PM (Central Time) Saturday January, 8 2011 to generationy11@ ymail.com.

    Thank you
    Christopher

Sounds a bit vague. People are applying for this and they don't know anything about it?
