Looking for someone interested in Starting a Virtual Assistant Business

    Hey Guys,
How are you? I have been on this forum for a while and I tend to be a bit of a serial entrepreneur. I like to grasp opportunities when I see them. I am currently in Nicaragua and I recently hired a Virtual Assistant here who is biligual and it is costing me $120 USD a month for 40 hours a week. It has been pretty good so far and I was thinking that it will be amazing if I can start a business and market this service. Obviously there will be some sought of markup and I was thinking of using one of the VAs to do the marketing work online. Post in message boards, Guru and those other sites> I usually like to work with someone to split the tasks. I am looking for someone energetic, innovative and hard working. I can do much of the online marketing and we can both work on that. The cost is minimal and if you are located in a big city you can also network in your city to attract clients. I look forward to hearing from you.

    Hi Chuff,

Interesting thought. So the person that works for you works 180 hours for $120 ($1.5 an hour) and you think there are plenty more workers like this in Nicaragua and you want to outsource this work? The one thing that is holding you up is landing more work? Does this person come to your office to work? How reliable are the internet connections in Nicaragua? How well can they write English? I think this is a great idea and a lot of people are capitalizing on this new and growing market but I think people underestimate how much talent it really takes. Doing the actual administrative work is only a very small part of the battle. I have found that I am very good at finding jobs but not so good at finding the help that we actually do a good job for the right pay. Its a very tricky balance. Best of luck with your personal assistant business adventure! Keep us posted.
