Looking for partners for forum businesses.

I am looking for an experienced partner to open a few gaming forums, with the aim of making a quick profit through advertising and then selling. The money will be split 50/50, with hosting covered through myself.

I will design the forums and I just need help to populate them, there is no risk in this business. As I will pay for the domain and the hosting.

    Contact me asap.

I visit gaming forums on a daily basis and i have to wonder what special direction you are thinking of taking it. There are a couple of bigger ones out there already, gamefaqs.com, n4g.com etc.. However i do find them very lacking. I think one of the problems you will run into is the fact that software developers all maintain their own forums and if you want to get their attention about a problem or something else about the game you are playing it pretty much has to go up on their site.

One thing that is common among most of the gaming forums is that topics are generally started due to outside sources. So for example joe gamer has a blog and says something about x system or y game and it will get posted as news on other sites and that drives the site's forums. The problem i see with this is that people on the forums don't get responses from the original author. What would be great would be to have your site have daily articles written by people who will also actively participate in the forums.

Gaming forums are a weird beast to say the least. You will have fan boys come out of the woodwork which is good for site traffic statistics but can definitely lower the quality of the site, however moderation has to be used with restraint since once you start deleting posts people will quickly leave in bunches if they feel their voices are not heard.

In order to generate the level of traffic the site will need to be of value to sell you are going to need some kind of angle/feature that the billion of other gaming sites don't have or bring together a site that is the best pieces of few top sites right now. I do think you might have picked a good time to try and bring this project together since there are a lot of people who’s interest in developer sites are waning because of the censorship that goes on with the developer run forums (ID and EPIC I am looking at you). It might not be a bad idea after you launch to have a section that is more for game feedback to try and coax some of the developers to post from time to time. You could sell it to the developers as a heavily moderated sub-forum so they don't have to worry about childish comments or anything not factual based. Developers don't have time to weed through 100 posts of gibberish but your moderators will and people will post decent feed back if they believe a developer will read it. Oh btw a clan section would be nice also.

Just a few ideas that hopefully will help. If you have questions let me know since i have been into gaming and forums for a long time and seen what works and what does not.
