Looking for ideas for import/export company, import from India to USA

Hey guys,
New to the boards but thought i might try this out. I have a contact that i made that owns a company in India specializing in CNC machines, plasma machines, etc and can pretty much cut anything or make anything from wood, metal, acyclic, plastic, rubber, etc. Does anyone know how to start up a company like this or if there is even a market. I was thinking about seeing if i can make something there cheaper and ship it here. Any ideas? Partners? Anything would be appreciated. I have great management knowledge, and currently own a used text book business.

There is most def. a market for that kind of service. Any person that has the need for precision cut items could be a potential customer. You would basically be an agent and represent your friends services to potential clients. Of course, you would receive a flat fee or percentage for doing acquiring the work.
