Hello,
I am looking to form a partnership with a talented web developer with experience on big project websites. I have been developing the idea for a while now and been debating on how I wanted to bring this concept to fruition. I am not a person who lacks resources to get the website “built.” However, after working with a large firm for my first web development project I told myself that I would never do this again. The communication and professionalism of my experience was very lacking and I believe part of that was because they lacked personal investment in the project. I want to join with a person with mutual resources and talents so all parties are fully vested in the success of the business.
I would also be interested in partnering up with web marketing professional. This person would be someone who can utilize multiple marketing avenues to drive traffic and user-base.
So let me start by giving a bit of background information:
Let’s just say that it involves a billion dollar industry, a well defined and large niche of college students, a truly unique online platform and service (no other services of this caliber exist), and the carrying of absolutely no inventory. In addition, the very first transaction would posit pure profit, outside of the development and advertising stage. I apologize for the ambiguity, but would be more than happy to go over details once a NDA is signed. Once the NDA is signed, I challenge you to find another website that caters to this service!
I would prefer to partner up on an equity arrangement, but know that most developers will not work solely on this arrangement unless both parties bring equal talents to the table. So, I am willing to compensate on a bi-weekly payment option throughout the project. Of course your rates would have to be reduced, and I am only willing to compensate in an amount not to exceed 5-10 thousand dollars. However, if this is the case, your equity would be significantly reduced, as I am providing more than just an “idea.” I truly believe once you visit the idea, you would much rather take the equity on the potential alone.
What I bring to the table:
My background is in law. I hold a J.D. and I am currently in a M.B.A. program. I will work on all aspects of the legal components of the business development. I will handle all content creation, legal business formation, and depending on how original and unique the coding and process functions of the website are, will seek out a provisional patent which can cost 20k in itself. I have many contacts in the legal field to help aid in these endeavors. I am also a professor at a local university and have contacts to help with our niche of college students. Additionally, I have a very talented web developer that I have worked with that can help on portions of the project. However, as a lead developer for a large company, his time is limited.
What you need to bring to the table:
I need a web development guru! My concept is original so you are not going to be able to just plug in widgets and call it a day. I would prefer if you carried the servers for our website, but that is not mandatory. Also, if you have experience in mobile app creation that is also a huge plus and would kill on the user friendliness of our site!

If I wanted to outsource every aspect of my project, and never speak to my developer personally, I would do so. I seek out those with an entrepreneurial spirit, who are innovative and passionate.
