Looking For an Investor in New Unique online Quote Engine For Wedding Dresses

    Hi

I have had this idea on my laptop for some time now, struggling to get funds together to develop such a complicated website and do the marketing and advertising to go with.

Its basicly a search/quote engine for wedding dresses...

I came up with it as my mom was stressing so bad going to all these places trying on all these wedding dresses never getting the perfect one..

Then I came up with My Perfect Wedding Dress . Com

A very precise and detailed quote engine that includes everything and anything to do with wedding dresses... A women picks everything from the brand, to the size to the siluette... The website then basicly gathers this information and sends it to the all the wedding dress companies in teh vercinity that the customer has asked for and within a short time maybe 5 minutes a wedding shop will get intouch to tell her they have her perfect dress or discuss something they have similar... Basicly saving all the stress the for bride...

The money can be made in one way, the company paying you for the leads.. One thing that isnt doing bad in the current recession is weddings and there are always women looking for dresses so theres plenty of money to be made.

I have oready purchased the website, and designed the looks of it just cant afford to put it together create the quote engine and to the marketing for it. I have checked out my competition but nobody does anything close to what I have in mind as mine covers every angle possible of wedding dresses

I have aslo purchased the company "My Perfect Wedding" which is on companys house lost, so that in the future I can branch out into wedding locations, photograpers ect... the possibilites are endless if done properly.

Thanks for reading, if anyone has any questions please get in touch as I am so anxious to do this

    Thanks

    Casey

Casey, the premise sounds interesting but your post brings up a lot of questions. Much of it doesn't make sense.

You say purchased the website and designed the looks of it. But if you need a database driven website or search engine then you're talking about a very costly custom site. I'm no techie, but I think you got ahead of yourself there. Or do you mean you bought the domain name?

Also, you say you bought a company My Perfect Wedding. You bought an existing company? Or a domain name?

You tout that the wedding shop can contact the customer within 5 minutes. Maybe if all goes well and the search finds a match how will you get the shop to contact a customer within 5 minutes? That doesn't make sense.

Have you calculated your start up costs so you know how much funding you need?

Yeh sorry... I ment I bought the domain name, I didnt realise the website would cost so much to set up, I myself have designed a template for the website, but the quote engine needed behind the website aswell as members area proves to be quite costly.

I purchased the company name "My Perfect Wedding" through companies house...

Well when the customer has completed all the forms on the website stating what exacly she wants she then fills in her personal details i.e. contact number. The idea is that the details get sent to all wedding dress shops in that particular vercinity if the wedding shop has what is required they use the details given to contact the customer, hopefully this will be a pretty quick process...

I calculated that I would need no more than £8,000 that would cover website design, marketing, tv advert on the wedding channel, and all the little things to go with...

I hope I have answered all your questions

    Question

Does anybody on these forums actually ever invest in you? Or are they all scams?

It is highly unlikely that you will find an "investor" in your idea. A business such as you describe requires that you fund it yourself. That means having to work a second job and start saving if you don't have access to a home equity loan or credit cards. I don't know how you all are doing in the UK, but in the US you would never be approved for a business loan.

That is the harsh reality. People are not scouring forums looking for ideas to throw their money into.

While my new funding source (see blog below) is designed to bridge the gap for those that can't get traditional funding, donors will not be inclined to help someone that has not demonstrated the ability to actually create and run their own business. Simply having an idea is just not enough of a reason for someone to give you a donation or a loan.

When you say you purchased a website when in fact you only bought a domain name, or you say you purchased a company, when you didn't actually purchase a company, and you had no idea how much the website was going to cost you...that shows that you're not ready. You can't expect someone to invest in you if they don't have some sort of assurance that you can pull this off.

You might be able to bring your idea to reality someday, but you'll have to do a lot more leg work to get there. Sorry to be so blunt, but I don't want you wasting your time. Good luck to you Casey.
