Hello,
I have a website/web app idea I have to develop. It utilizes already existing features and modules in a way that is not currently being done by anyone. As with any new business idea, the first question is "what problem does your product/service solve?". This site would solve 4 very specific problems. I have a feasibility analysis done and I am very confident this will work. The profit model for the site is also very unique and great.
What I need is a partner who can financially make this a reality. Meaning, someone that has the financial means to get this sophisticated web application developed by a web development company that could develop as well as maintain the site once it is launched. Obviously the investor would have to see precisely what this idea is behind the web app and make his/her own decision on whether this would be a worthwhile investment for them. I am very confident that anyone that sees the concept and does their own independent research will be as convinced as I am about what a financial winner this site would be.
I am currently in the process of getting quotes from web development firms and once I have some ballpark figures from them I can let any interested investor know what the figures we're dealing with are going to be.
Also, what is the standard procedure for a situation such as this one? Obviously I wish to protect my idea so I would like to have a non-disclosure form signed by any potential investor before i reveal my idea. However, one of , if not the most, knowledgeable posters by the screenname 'akula' (I believe he is actually a mod) in a recent thread made me aware of the fact that NDA's are actually not very enforceable. So admittedly I am quite paranoid about how I can guarantee protection of my idea. I'll be darned if I end up like the twins in Harvard at the hands of Zuckerberg, as that is probably my biggest fear and nightmare.
I look forward to your replies.
