I'm in the process of starting up a non profit. We have most of the paperwork done to register as a charity in Massachusetts, a Board of Directors, a business plan and other official documents written, social media tools set up and in use, and we won a $500 grant, so we're partway there. The problem is that, even though we have about 10 volunteers (and we're small, so that's a lot), I wind up doing the vast majority of the work.

I'm looking for someone who is interested in helping run and register an Iranian-American pen pal program. The program is called Doostane Farsi Zabane Man, which translates from Farsi, the language spoken in Iran, to “My Persian-Speaking Friends.” Our guess is that most of what Americans hear or see about Iran in the news is negative, and it portrays a distorted view of the 72 million Iranian citizens to American citizens. Similarly, Iranians can get an erroneous impression of Americans. This program is focused on student pen pals because they may not have had the chance or influence to create their own opinions yet, giving us the opportunity to a new generation of more understanding and culturally informed adults.

I have found this whole process of starting a non profit to be a very rewarding experience. I'm looking for someone who wants that same satisfaction and is willing to give 100% to help make the world just a little bit better. If you're interested, PM me.
