Looking for a partner. :) (Web Hosting Company)

Hello. My name is Brad Dodimead and I'm looking for a partner to create a web hosting company with.

First, let me tell you a little about myself...
I'm 17 years old and I'm currently working for two web hosting companies, managing and up-keeping Linux and Windows servers. I first started as a Support Technician helping clients with servers they've purchased.
When I'm not busy, I work as a freelancer developing websites.

I definitely have the experience to create a web hosting company. I also know a fair bit about creating a business having studied Business and leaning from the mistakes of my current employers.

The reason why I'm not creating the company on my own is because I have little money. I also believe the company will have a greater chance to succeed with two people working together.

    Thanks for your time,

    Brad.

do you have any idea how much it will take to start?
    where are you located?
do you have a business plan or at least a summary?
    how will you acquire clients?
i am just asking these questions because these are basic questions you need to answer before moving forward
are you looking for a partner that has web hosting experience?

Oops. Sorry. Should have said in the first post.

    I'm looking for around $400-$500.
I'm based in England, although I don't mind where the partner comes from.

In the first month I plan to spread the word about our hosting service on forums, etc. (Like webhostingtalk.com) Both of the companies I currently work for have started out this way. Then if the first two months go well, start using services like Google Adwords.

I've been thinking about VPS packages that start from $15 up to around $85 /month.
So we will need around 30 clients (if they all purchase the lowest package) before we start seeing a profit. I believe this can be done within the first month.

I don't want any money out of the business until the investment has been paid back.

The investment is low-risk because a money-back guarantee is given we purchase the server. So if it seems like things aren't working out, you'll get the money back.
The website will be developed by me, so there'll be no need to purchase a template.

Please let me know if there's something I haven't covered.

    Thanks again,

    Brad.

    Hm, can't edit the post...

    Just wanted to add:
I don't mind if the partner doesn't know anything about web hosting.

    Thanks,
    Brad.

Hi! No, I plan to purchase a dedicated server with rapidspeeds.com. (Looking for a cheaper deal somewhere else)
Unless of cause the partner wants to start off with a reseller one.

I was planning on selling VPS's as they seem to make a decent profit in a short time. It's really up to the partner.

I'll be making a custom website myself with WHMCS integrated.

There are a few licences we need to buy:
    WHMCS
    SolusVM
    A control panel.

As well as registering the company.
    That's why I went for $400.

Of cause it won't come to that much though.

Ok,i get what you are saying so are you looking for the money for a percentage of the company say 50/50 or just a loan plus interest and no share of the business or what as you have not clarified that part of the deal.

Sorry. I'm looking for a partner to split it 50/50.
Although if they don't want to do that, I'm willing to take a loan plus interest - with the understanding that it may take a month or two before it can be paid back.

You expect instant success within the first 2 months? That comical. There are so many questions I could ask, but I feel like you wouldn't have an answer for them. This is your idea, yet you have NO problem splitting ownership 50-50 with some guy you've NEVER met before? Do you have a legal budget?...do you even have an attorney at hand?. The start up some for something like this are going to be high to say the least and in terms of marketing, the best you can come up with is posting on forums?.

The start up for something like this are * typo.

I'm also disappointed in YE for NOT fixing the bug problem when trying to edit posts. It's been like that for OVER a year now. Hello?

What's your problem?! Isn't that what this forum is for?
I'm asking for someone else's money to create an idea I have. It's not my money. That's why I'm giving such a large percentage.
Although I do admit 50/50 isn't something I would want to do. 60/40 would be better.

I don't expect "instant success". I know it's going to be hard, but I know what I'm doing.
Within two months the partner will be close (if not already) to getting his money back.

I find it hard to believe that someone would post on a thread just to complain.
I mean, if you're not interested - Why bother posting? :L

Oh, sorry if you meant well.

    About your marketing comment:
I don't plan to have a lot of advertising to begin with.
Both of my current employers started out by advertising on forums, and they were close to 100 clients in the first two months.

I have researched everything and know exactly what I'm doing.
All I need is someone to invest, which is why I created this thread.
