Looking for 30k for niche subscription based web site.

    I call it a niche...but its a big niche.
I have a plan to launch a website in October that is subscription based and aimed at farmers in the US. (total of about 2.2million people. Initial target market is aprox 100k farmers) It will provide market data and weather information as well as unique commentary on what is driving the market etc.

I have a web developer that is doing the ground work, I have a full business plan. I need start up funds in the next 30 days. I thought I had a partner (friend) who's wife has killed his involvement as they are now going to have a child.

Not going to be the fastest growth business in the world but will be able to go to $1million in profits in about 5 years.

I am located in Nebraska and my idea is ready to go and fully thought out. Is there anyone that would have an interest in helping?

in the interest of full disclosure I have poor personal credit. I have experience in managing a company and running my own company in the past.

Yes, I am in that interesting catch 22...I need money to prove the concept works in order to get money that I will most likely not need any longer.

For 30k I will give the investor 30% ownership.

As for # of farmers lined up etc...I have none...but i have sold this product sort of...for two years. Let me explain.

There is one company in this market right now. They have a web site with over 20k subscribers. I used to work for them in sales. They are focused on the idea of stuffing as much data, and as many news stories onto the site as possible justifying raising the costs annually and getting more revenue per client. I would say easily 60-70% of the people I called in my two years said the service was getting too expensive and they only actually used a small percentage of what the site offered. They only wanted, and only wanted to pay for what they actually used and found useful.

My site will be about 25% of the cost of the competitor and have JUST the meat and potatoes and none of the fluff. Web site design is INCREDIBLY simple...very few links, very very simple to navigate. The idea is to provide JUST the information they need...at a price they feel is a value.

I hope that helps. I am interested in any advice and help you can offer. Thank you,
