    Investors for Indie Project

My name is Milly Heller. I am trying to revolutionize the way people watch soap operas by starting my own daily soap opera. This is going to be different from other soap operas because it is going to be broadcast exclusively online. This will cater to soap opera viewers (5,000,000 people watch The Young and the Restless everyday) and web series viewers. This is an expensive task, and I am looking for investors. Please email me if interested.
    The website is dreamssoapopera.com
My email address is millyheller [at] gmail.com

    yea..wow
    that's some gutsy opportunity selection
so many things would have to click for this to pay off..
really small upside, really high downside
you'd have to admire the founder who is doing this venture

There is a web soap opera called The Bay that has already made television syndication deals in Europe. If Dreams takes off, than it could be syndicated world wide. I think that at first, it may seem that the downside is much larger than the upside, but once the project gets going, I believe that the good will outway the bad.

awww milly...you've got guts that's for sure.

let me tell you something. i sell a product which solves a quantifiable problem for a very specific set of customers, all of whom have money, and all of whom i can readily contact. they're on my mailing list. when people ask me "why should I buy your thing?", it's not hard for me to sell it. I just show them a chart which illustrates in plain figures how much money they're gonna lose if they are not going to buy what I have to sell. the product that I sell is highly effective, highly valuable and I'm literally the only person in the world selling it. in marketing terms, what I do, is pretty much a sure thing..BUT, given all of these positives, the reality is that what I do is extraordinary uncertain and I lose sleep thinking about how I'm going to manage all of these things that can go wrong.

with your venture, you are way way way up there on the uncertainty scale. what you do is literally a hits based business. for every hit like The Bay, there are entire landfills full of scripts that have never seen the light of day..and most of them are pretty good too. could have been real winners...alas, that's just the way things go in show biz.

I just wouldn't have the guts to do what you do.

keep on at it. I really can't give you any advice. you're a producer.
you guys are the hardest working sale people in the world.
you should be showing us how to close deals.

I'd rather have it filmed professionally which will cost a tad bit more than $20...

Interesting idea although I thought I read recently viewership of soaps has been on the decline for years which is why they are disappearing on TV. Are you in the US? Do you have experience in producing or writing this type of content?

Yes, soap viewership has been declining. I think that a new medium of broadcast will give new life to the genre. I am in the US. My experience is limited to short films.

In your website you are telling that this project is non profit, however you are still looking an investor here. How investor gets his money back if its non-profit project?
Maybe you should do like other media broadcasters are doing by seeking an advetiser?
