Name is Kamil, on date I stared FOLrecords … story….

I have launched the platform June 1st 2011 and since then we are doing pretty good with what we have. Traffic to the site is growing as well as the sign ups. We got to a point were we need to funding to expand servers, hire a bigger team, develop all the features etc...

Here is a little description of what I'm doing.

No company in the music industry has fully and successfully adapted to the changes file sharing has made. File sharing and illegal downloading are not going anywhere.

Myspace was the first online music platform to reach a high level of success and reach. Any musician that was anyone had their music on myspace. Since then, the online music presence has spread out over multiple interfaces.

I have already launched platform that supports artists, delivers quality music in unique, but fundamental music exploration interfaces, and connects the entire industry. It will be entirely user driven, and this is how I plan to do it

Support Artists -

The most fundamental idea works very similar to adsense or youtube revenue sharing. Artists will be able to create a profile and offer their music. For every view their artist page receives, they would get a percentage of the money made from advertisement.


Deliver Quality music -

2 main points

We will have 2 types of accounts. Artist accounts and Fan/Promoter accounts
With the Fan/Promoter account, you will have access to a unique link or embed code for every artist or song on the website. For every view you bring to an artist, you will receive a percentage of the money made from the advertisement on that page. The artists that the fans truly promote will get the exposure. This helps eliminate manufactured hype.

"Pay What You Like" and Payment systems. Artists will either be able to offer their music through our "Pay What You Like" system or sell the download for a chosen amount. With the "Pay What You Like" system, songs on the artists page would be available for free download. When a user downloads the song and notification will pop up with a highlighted $0 and a "Download" button. This leaves the path of least resistance for fans who choose to support their artists.

With these systems in place, music will naturally balance its self out. The artists that are loved get promoted and supported by there fans.

The charts are going to be a interactive interface where you are able to zoom to any country, city, state, etc while choose which genres to show. Users can easily see how artists are doing on any level.
