I found a foregin investor, how to legal bring money in my country?

I found a foregin investor and its is 100 percent real, I am from canada and him from china. he is going to invest in my start up of a new corproation I am about to start, which will sell products both local and online.

I am aware that any transfers over 10k can be troblesome from different countrys. my questions are how and what info do i need for the gov to legally bring funds in for the start up of my business form a foregin country.
    thanks

I'm sure you guys have already worked out all the contractual agreements and if your startup has a bank account, then all you need to do is take that signed agreement to your bank, show it to them, and tell them that you're expecting a large transfer in so much amount.

I don't think there should be any problem. I am in the USA and we do it all the time. Our developers are outside the USA and we have no problem transferring money to them.

Or may be it's different from Canada? Go talk to your bank, find out what documents they need from you or your backer.

Hi, I have dealt with China many times over the years...........I live in Canada. There is no problem having any amount being sent to your business account. If there is any suspicion on the funds the bank will ask you to fill out a simple form as to where the funds came from. If you are not hiding anything then there is nothing to worry about. Canada does billions of $$$ of business with China. A word of entrepreneurial advice would be: To start with, try not to get caught up worrying about the "possible" problems - only have time for the "real" problems that HAVE to be sorted out.
