    Help in exporting!!!!!

    Hi,

I just open an auto body shop and right now I am buying cars with little damage fix them and sell them back. I am interesting in exporting some cars in Africa like Nigeria or South Africa. The problems is that:

    1. I do not know no one down there

    2. I will not trust no one down there

    3. How can get contact information for supplying someone with cars.

Many thanks for any help on this subject...

All i can say is that it is all about networking ESPECIALLY WHEN EXPORTING. By networking i dont just mean creating relations with business partners or other servicing companies that assist your company but government officials as well especially in some areas that are more corrupt per say. Good luck please update us if your business takes off i would like to know i was planning to do something like this myself.

We sent a few cars to Eastern Europe last year to sell. The market is pretty good there - you can even register cars w/ salvage titles (as long as all repairs have been done).

PM me if you are interested in that market.

You need to find sites that advertise in those markets. Once you make a few sales to buyers over there you will begin to establish relationships (it takes time). I have one auction client that sells 60,000 vehicles a year with about 10% going outside the US. I have another who sells 1M units a year with about 35% going outside the US. You can use a secondary vendor for the sales it you want to use their buyer base.

It isn't hard to do but it will take time and effort to find good consistent buyers. If you want more info about the auctions I work with PM me your location.
