    Find That Money

Anyone here used findthtmoney.com? A site dedicated to putting investors and entrepreneurs together.

I used it for a year and had a decent amount of inquiries but they no investor ever replied after initial "Please contact me so I can get further details." BUT as soon as my year long subscription ran out I started getting multiple inquiries daily. I want everyone to know that I am not sure that this site is a genuine as it appears. I believe the new increase in inquiries is staged in order to get me to fork over another years sub...So I want to know if this is what others found or if the new financial admin has struck confidence in American Investors that there are actually more people interested.

PS ... During my 16 months of raising funds, I found that 80% of people in the financial sectors are going to tell you they can do one thing and perform another. So I am not accusing Findthatmoney of anything. I believe the entire financial sector has moral issues.

    Zinger,
As an investor who is registered with a few sites like you mentioned, the biggest thing I would say, is that a lot of the time people don't put together a very clear outline of their goals or experience when advertising on these sites, and as such most investors I know seem to stick to either property development where their is an asset or else to large manufacturing style risks which are not reliant on a single person.

I on the other hand have gone a different way and will pretty much finance anyone with an IT/web based investment as through my dealings I have found that people are generally honest and even if things don't turn out as they had hoped they still live up to their obligations as someone trusted in them when they were just beginining, as opposed to many SME businesses who will try to get out of their obligations through various strategies.

bummer of a situation..sorry to hear it
dude....ur story just sounds bad...buying subscriptions, from some website, that help you find "investors", and you've been doing it for over a year etc etc etc
..almost like a caricature of how not to finance a startup..

anyways, to answer your question - yes you're being conned.
private equity deals don't happen between strangers who meet on the internet...but you already knew that..

yes..that's right..desperate, hopeful, financially illiterate, naive people who want to start businesses are prime targets for all kinds of bottom feeders....they'll sell you subscriptions, "money raising boot camps", "secrets of successful capital raising ebooks"..all kinds of bullshit

....and the bullshit keeps selling...because entrepreneurs don't usually understand startup finance in general, and angel finance in particular

side note: as a financial services worker, just want to make it clear that the people you are dealing with are not finra licensed financial services professionals, bankers, or anyone else working in this highly ethical and regulated industry. the people you're talking to are garden variety noboddies taking advantage of entrepreneurs.

That statement alone would make me wary of you. I'm sure you didn't intend to sound like a scammer yourself, but as soon as you say you "will pretty much finance anyone..." that sends up a red flag.

I have never visited said site but have encountered others with that typical trial membership and reel in business model. Sounds like the flood of inquiries after the trial end was all in the plan to get you back on the site where they would need to charge you to continue. I would just say stick to YE and other niche sites to ideas of your own, that should get you closest to honest responses.

For Adam and anyone else interested. Funding for businesses comes in a variety of methods. I cannot speak on behalf of Find that Money, but the name alone does not sound credible. You are welcome to visit one of the projects I am currently associated with at Conektinc .com

The website is still getting ready for launch, but it is designed to match entrepreneurs with investors based on compatibility. Feel free to sign up and receive updates when we are ready for launch. You will not receive spam and your information will not be used for third party marketing purposes.
