By the way, if the "tell me how much you can pay" is a turnoff, please don't let it be. I'm very flexible when it comes to compensation.

I have a dream, several in fact but none revolve around you building a site. I was hoping this thread had some magic or sparkle inside but alas i was wrong.... Honest answer....

Ahh, I didn't think of it like that, but I definitely see why you would.

I have been a "web designer looking for work" before, and it's really not a fun place to be. This thread is more "web developer looking for startup."

There's tons of guys looking for freelance projects, but I feel like very few are looking for a startup. I want to share your passion, and create your dream. I want to brainstorm with you, not just take your specs and be the robot tech guy that does whatever you say. If you're looking for a robot, there's plenty of guys willing to be one, check out a freelance site. However, that's not what I want to fill my free time with. I'd much prefer to work on something I can be enthusiastic about.

The compensation is there because, well, it should be. You can't expect me to do work for nothing in return. Offer me equity, offer me your services, offer me cash, I really don't care, but it has to be something. That's just a matter of principal.

Also, it's important to stress that I'm not a designer, I'm a developer. I work more on functionality than user interface.
