Can You Help? I Need A Great Business Plan.

hey everyone. because i have not found any luck with coming up with the funding for my project i decided i will just take the chances and go to a local bank and try my luck there. I know i will need a business plan so i was just wondering how will i start my business plan? like the outline of it and things like that. I looked up business plan outlines but they all seem like there more fit for companys or large business not a website. My project is not Ecommerce or anything like that. So just from your experience just tell me what you know about business plans. Any replies will be helpful things.

Take this for what it's worth. My last client and I raised over $6 million in less than three months.

BusinessPlan Pro is a great piece of software if you want to build a thorough business plan for external use such as finding capital. Most big lenders will ask for one. But more important, get to know your lender and ask them what kind of plan they typically like to see. Doing this will save you some time and a ton of work. Also, ask the lenders you meet what their basic lending criteria are and see if you're even a fit.

Most angel investors, including me, want a one page plan that details the following.

    A. Start with your company profile to include...

    1. Name.
    2. URL.
    3. Industry.
    4. Employees.
    5. Date Founded.
    6. Contact and Information.
    7. Financial Information including Funding Stage.
    8. Capital Raised to Date.
    9. Monthly Burn Rate.
    10. Pre-Money Valuation.
    11. Capital Seeking.
    12. Management.
    13. Advisors such as Lawyer, CPA
    14. Investor Types to Date.
    15. Referred By.

    B. Then you need to address the guts of the one page plan. Keep it simple and succinct.

    1. Business Summary.
    2. Customer Problem.
    3. Product/Service.
    4. Target Market.
    5. Customers.
    6. Sales/Marketing Strategy.
    7. Business Model.
    8. Competitors.
    9. Competitive Advantage.
    10. Financial Summary for 3-5 years. Historical if you have them for 2-3 years prior depending on who will read your plan.

It may make sense to have a professional plan done for you so it looks like a professional did it instead of a kid sister/brother or something less than top notch. PM me if you want details. Our affiliates has done over 12,000 plans for all kinds of businesses. We also coach entrepreneurs to write their own.

Good luck with the bank approach. It's way more likely these days that private money will be a faster route to funding. Banks are asleep at the wheel these days and will be for a while. Wish it wasn't so. But that's what I am seeing these days.
