Thumbs up Anyone interested in pooling resources and do business together?

There are so many opportunities out there. If we can pool our minds and expertise together, we can achieve unexpected results.

I am hoping to find a a group of partners. Preferably below 5 partners as too many will give rise to more opinion conflicts.

Anyone from any country, as long as you seriously and honestly think "pooling resources" is the way to do business in today's competitive business environment. We can share ideas on business opportunity. Or we can share expertise and start up a new business.

Or, we can even simply pool resources (like money) to start or buy on business we think will be successful. BUT if we ever decide to pool money, we will start with something really small. As an idea, perhaps purchasing a dead e-commerce site that we can foresee the potential in it. Or we hire programmer to design the idea we are confidence of the potential etc.

If you are interested, please let me know.

    Dennis

Hi SunTzu, urvesh and all others who have messaged me. I am glad I have found like-minded souls here.

For a start, before we proceed any further. Lets get to know a little about each other here.

My name is Dennis. I am involve with web development business. I also have other small businesses which I called hobby investment. I am particularly interested in e-commerce as most of the time, it involves practically very minimal costs and the return can be enormous.

    Cool okay.

    My name is Jay,

I'm currently a university undergraduate, I have created numerous websites over the years since I was 14 (im 20 now). My main strength is most likely sales and marketing. I'm currently working on a project at the moment to educate myself on the in's and out's of running a successful blog. My goal is achieve a decent to high number of traffic hitting the site regularly and moderate to decent income aswell. Once this is achieved I will start looking into purchasing pre-exisiting websites with traffic and income already coming in and optimize/profit from running numerous sites which all bring me somewhat passive income.

I don't have much experience in the e-commerce world to be honest, so our skills would most likely complement each other rather than overlap.

    Hi Jay,

Interesting biz concept you have there. Anyway, are you involved with any particular business now, other than your blog?

And you've mentioned your main strength is in sales and marketing. Do you mean online platform (SEO) or offline conventional sales and marketing?

And what do you have in mind on pooling resources to do business together in a group? Just wanted to know how think of the idea.

    Thks,
    Dennis

    Hi Dennis,

When referring to sales and marketing I was talking about the offline aspect of it. Pitching a product, communicating with clients face to face etc. etc. I ran a web development company a few years back whereby I would go to local businesses without a website, demonstrate why it would benefit them in person and then upon getting the contract to do the work then subcontracted the work and made an 60-80% profit on each site. I'm more interested in setting up a network of sites that all provide passive income so I can have a steady cash flow to work on the bigger money making ideas later on.

    Jay.

Hi chuff1026, welcome aboard. Mind to do some brief intro? Just so that everyone here know each other before we proceed further.

Jay, so you are into conventional s&m, that is a valuable skill. Btw, you actually get 60-80% per sales? That percentage is.. a tad too high in the web development line, don't you think so?

Anyway, passive income is definitely a dream comes true for most people. And passive income is definitely possible from high traffic website/blog. From personal experience, you can achieve this via online ads like adsense, or you can generate revenue from reselling product/services. But if you want a comfortable living from this income, you will need to work super hard and it takes time to build up the traffic.

For blog, content is the king. Just a little more down to earth statistic (there are exceptions of course), if you are going for adsense, for every 1000 unique hits, you will probably only get 30 clicks (if lucky).

For reselling online, service, quality and reliability of product as well as the company is very important. But regardless, for every 50 enquiries, you will happy if you can get 2 or 3 sales out of it.

I have personally done all the above for a number of years. Enough for pocket money but definitely not enough for 3 meals a day. But again, of course there are exceptions, I know of some ppl that actually live quite comfortably with their blog/website.

    Hi Marc,

Having your own product like self-written e-book, now that is another niche by itself. Having one owns product is always a much better income generator than plain reselling.

Btw, is the "e-book market" still blooming? I thought its long gone as nowadays we can download almost anything for free. And $2K per month, that is a big number just for one e-book, unless you have a collection of them, do you? Just curious.

And half a quarter of a million search a month, with only $60 conversion? I think that is a little low. Its either your targeted keywords are of low CPC or that you are not getting enough click. But I am sure you have other focus in mind, while adsense is just a complimentary revenue.

Myself and some people tried this concept last year and failed. You're going to have a hard time with this for some obvious reasons. 1) who's going to be CEO, president, vp, etc... ?
    2) where is the company going to be based?
    3) what are the products and services offered?
    4) and what if the products and services offered are too complex or unknown to the other members?
    5) How will you divide ownership? is this an LLC, corporation, co-op ?...
    6) how will you verify that people have the knowledge and skills they say they do?
    7) how will you make sure those people are doing the work they are required to do?
    8) what if there are legal conflicts of interest among partners..I hope you have a good attorney to sort out the mess. Who has the largest share of the company?..the guy that invests the most?..if that's the case, I hope you have some rock solid, air tight contracts in place.

there are other questions too but you get the idea. Answer these above questions in detail and you might have a chance. GL

Hi Marc, thanks for the info. Good focus there, creating a high traffic blog to promote your e-books.

Hi Southern_Lenders, you have some good questions there. These are definitely the issues that will have to be ironed out sooner or later.

But that is not the objective here, at least not now. I prefer to do this in stages, we should focus on the objective in each stages and not stray away.

If we plan to have a successful business, do we only think of what position we want to be holding? Or wouldn't it be better for us to brain storm on what businesses we are interested in, then filter them out, and make the necessary preparation and planning, before going into details on what we need to do and have in that business?!

So, thats the objective now. Is to find the right group of partners to partner with.
