A Funding Idea..

get guys..i just wanted to know what u thought of this idea...
this will more work with websites as the startup cost is usually a little lower
i actually started to create a website to facilitate this idea a couple years ago but never finished
anyway

the idea is that you get investments in small denominations
lets say u need $5000 for your startup idea
you can sell lets sat, .5% of the company for $100..or something to that effect
you will create a presentation and all that to show to potential investors

i did something at netrepreneurfunding.com but never finished
think it will work?
the admin of the site will have to control development and ensure that the money is spent on the website
to avoid scams
what u think?

Interesting idea, and could be a very unique way to raise money. I would think the example you gave would be common...people investing small amounts of money for low risk. I would equate it to the financing equivalent to that site that sold a million pixels of an image for $1 each. You're correct though would be ensuring they are legitimate and that any relevant laws are conformed to.

Are you looking to work with someone on this, or just for some input?
