    Young Entrepreneur seeks Mentors

Hello, I'm 18 years old, you may occasionally see my posts here on YE, but I have had many business ideas and I basically need a successful mentor to guide me, I DO NOT want any money, investments, assets, ect. from you and will NEVER ask you, I just need guidance from someone successful and experienced, someone to run my ideas by. Please, if you are interested in chatting occasionally about business ideas send me an email, Geoff.Coderre@gmail.com or add me on msn, reply in this topic, or even send me by PM, any experienced help would be very great full, a way to give back to the community that has helped you in some way. I'm a very determined young Entrepreneur, and unlike others I'm not looking to be rich by December. Thank you very much,
    -Geoff

I am always looking to connect and offer some encouragement as well as give you the straight talk and honest reactions to your ideas.

You can contact me by going to the website in my signature and using the contact form. I check my email often, so responses should not take to long for you to receive.

Hey, like I mentioned, I just need general support, I did get a few offers and I thank everybody who replied, but like I said, I'm looking for serious, full time, successful, experienced, entrepreneurs. Unfortunately, if you send me an email that says "Hey Geoff, call me" That's not what i'm looking for, and at this time i'm not searching for other university students that are interested in Entrepreneurship, i'm looking for older, mature, successful, experienced, entrepreneurs, thank you very much! -Geoff

Not to cut your short, but the likelihood of people you're looking for going out of their way to email you is almost none. They have no reason to and most people have no interest in that. If you want something, you need to go out of your way to contact them. If you honestly want someone to help you, you have to come to them. This isn't intended to be rude or anything, but its simply a matter of you wanting to connect, therefore you need to take the initiative. Posting on a forum expecting someone to email you is not taking an initiative. I have no interest in people like that and I'm sure there are others that feel the same. Hopefully this'll help you rethink your strategy.

A truly successful entrepreneur is not likely to contact you to offer free help (not saying its not possible, just not likely). If the person is successful, he/she will be very busy. What you seem to need is a coach. But that will cost money, or equity, or both. The quality of your mentor will be in direct relation to the cost. As the sayin goes, you get what you pay for. If it's free, it's likely worthless.

I love to offer free advice to encourage young entrepreneurs. I am busy, but it is a nice break to use your experiences to help someone along. In fact, I would love to spend my retirement to start a charity that would bring together mentors and disadvantged high school and college students. I admit mentorship would better be approached through personal relationships than a post, but you are using the tools available to you and I think your post is beyond your years.
