No i was talking about a wifi phone that does not need a base station like that would mimic cellphones so that transition into the new technology would be simple.

I was not talking about a cellphone / wifi which when there is no wifi signal you would switch to a cellphon band that is not what i am talking about.

In this post it stated WiMax Network which is a Wifi Network. This is used in south america and Africa in harsh land where they have one telephone for a city of thousands.

A signal is broadcasted from lets say USA, CA. They would shoot it via satellite to a receive then they would shoot it to a city with a receiver. and they would broad cast the signal in their town.

But what if i am out side the broadcast area. You would make a wifi antena which is basically a coax wire and a coffee can this will give you a extended radius of 2-8 miles.

If you need more than that you upgrad to an old satelite dish. That has been tested on top of a hill to have 150 miles distance.

Now that you have the signal you be a good neighbor and broadcast the open signal again via basic wireless router so some one else 150 miles away can now hook up.

Like I have said I looked into this a few years ago technology has change but no one has created anything near this wifi flipphone with no base skype made one but it will not take off in my area.

The one thing i am sure of is that sooner or later Government will decide to make america wifi for security measures that is definate.

You can decide what tv shows are aired. Have you ever loved a show and it was cancelled because they were not getting ratings and advertisers.
Now you decide what shows stay on and no commercials. Think about it no additional fee to take out the commercials they are not allowed.

I am interested in starting something but I have not seen any legitimate information or anything that would give this venture a competitive edge.
