I am interested in creating a dating site... LovesConnect.com or perhaps nicemessages.com I have the domains for both and think they would be a great base to start a dating company from. I need a web designer who is interested in creating a script and we will share 50/50 the profits. So what will make your site better than match.com or eharmony.com? Have you analyzed the market? Your competitors? Or really done any other type of analysis? I think you should consider some of these things first. Maybe there are more viable business opportunities elsewhere.

We do sites but Im not sure we want to have stake in your company, I would get you a great deal and pretty much beat any other quotes you get but thats the best we could do. I agree with the above and it may be a hard industry to get into.

the guy who created plentyofish managed to break in and is making literally millions. However, it does beg the question, how many dating sites can the market take. I am sure your dating site would get hits b/c all do; however, would it be enough to justify the time and expense in creating it.

Or someone who can offer both. Once you've detailed all your requirements, and are ready to start putting the functionality in place, instead of wasting time building from scratch, be sure to look at Drupal.

Its a community management system that offers a ton of additional functionality in using plugin modules. Take the default install for a test run.

I dont need to be better then eharmony, match or any of the other sites. I just have to have an attractive site and hope to get a few hundred or thousand customers. I am not trying to become a millionaire with this site unless i did have a revolutionary idea, however that is not to say I cant make a nice little side income from this site. Everyone is thinking to grand it seems a site dosent have to be an alexa to 50 site like the other dating ones to be a good profitable site. pm me if you are realistic and think we could work together

Your idea is great but currently, there are lots of dating sites but if you are willing to pursue that you need to be ontop of your game and provide a sucker punch to your competitors. I "personally" think there are too many dating sites out there and some are too junk related so it scares me away. When I see a dating site - a porn flash back kind of website comes to mind and quickly close the page or website not that I visit porn sites, lol.

Try to find another niche' where you could make this much interesting and take a different route but something similar that could attract clients. Be more innovative and think hard about this. The web has so much to offer these days - all the best

I am an entrepreneur myself (26 years old) but looking more into the online marketing communication webspace. I feel there is so much there we could improve and provide better communication facilities for clients beaming to locate one another easily and improve their communication.

I am currently in other areas, I want to develop a small subscription based dating site, I dont want big but yes I would like it original. My domain name is topnotch and I feel that will help give the site some credibility however I think more important than a fresh approach is a nice easy to use webpage. That is what I want, I need a web designer who is willing to take a risk and help create a website. It is more about marketing then a unique idea, if enough people get to your site there will be signups.

I like your way of thinking.

I am a bit tired of seeing some people in the forum who think they know it all, knocking others down before they even get started on a project.

I believe that every major site once started as something very small and with work and commitment, I'm sure that not only can you made a nice profit from your venture, but you can grow it in to a site just as big (if not bigger) than any other similar one out there.
