Question Varsity-strength sweat equity wanted

I've been working on a regional pre-professional research and consulting firm for college students and haven't had much luck finding dedicated students looking to work in a start-up that may later go public and with impressive ROI. I've explored the troves of resumes in StudentBusinesses.com which has been a good resource... But what are some good ways of enticing potential employees?

Viewing the individual resumes help me decide which are great prospects or ones whose experience would be useful for early-stage development. It seems I'm only finding near-sighted entrepreneurs who want cash up front for their work, without even putting any effort into the plan. Randal Pinkett's book reminded me that those in it only for the money are not the right ones to invite to the team.

What are some other good resume or profile banks (free) that have students looking to get involved in a startup company and offer true sweat equity to make the business succeed? If you find some very enticing resumes in the resume pool, what are good ways to see if they would be interested? Also, how can I share with them that I have a sustainable and profitable vision, but I may need some assistance developing clearer definitions of key elements in the executive summary?

Thanks,
JP

You won't have much luck finding "dedicated students" to work for nothing but equity. Everyone wants to be compensated for their hardwork. Very few companies have a successful exit, so why would some low level employees want to take the risk of working hard for a little equity. Just like you won't find good salesmen paying only on commission (because the idea will definately sell). Good employees require good compensation. Regardless of what your book says, people do work just for money, they want to be fairly compensated.

Very true. I've done a bit of cold calling (emailing) entrepreneurs I've found a few interested entrepreneurs. Equity seems a reasonable exchange for their hard work.

Thank you for your feedback.
