Hey ep1dem1c
I am also starting a retail clothing store. In my experince ive found that if you take the brands youre wanting to sell and contact the actual company them selves, theyll bemore than happy to tell you who their distributors are

Good luck with the clothing store. My advice to you is don't do it. I have my own store and if I could do it all over again, I wouldn't. It's a lot harder than what people think. My advice to you if you are going to do it is go work for someone first with a store and ask a lot of questions.

Owning a clothing store is a decent business, but it is also a great way to lose time and money. I would be the last person to tell you not to do it -- I have had people telling me not to pursue my dreams ever since I could speak well enough to voice them.
One recommendation would be to diversify your store. Accessories nowadays are as popular as the clothes themselves. I am looking at a project involving eyewear that seems interesting. Sell clothes, accessories, and music, and you'll be able to make a decent living (depending on the location, of course).

Clothing Distributors
Hello all,
A good place to look for good brands in the UK both international established and upcoming is to attend the tradeshows. They take place twice a year next one coming is in February 09. The main ones being TBC, Margin and Pure. Look them up as they all have support different ends of the industry.
Having our own label we found it was the best way to reach out to buyers and equally for buyers its a great way to meet brands.
Hope this is helpful, let me know if you need more details
