Hi everyone I am new to this forum. I pretty came here for education purposes. RIght now I am in the middle of putting together my business proposal and starting a local urban clothing boutique. I am also starting a retail clothing store. In my experince ive found that if you take the brands youre wanting to sell and contact the actual company them selves, theyll bemore than happy to tell you who their distributors are

hi , my name is brian and i live in newcastle uk . i run an urban clothing website known as pear69-urban/hiphop clothing .. doing well at the minute especially in the newcastle region . i am looking for a business mpathner whom have interest in the urban clothing sector and particularly knows a lot about the skate designs such as zoo york , ecko n the rest . most of the designs i sell are mainly hiphop designs , i will be launching a store n london and would like to cater for the skate styled loving customers too but i lack the knowledge of the designers they like so if u know a lot bout this please email me @ urbanpear@fsmail.net . thanks

Good luck with the clothing store. My advice to you is don't do it. I have my own store and if I could do it all over again, I wouldn't. It's a lot harder than what people think. My advice to you if you are going to do it is go work for someone first with a store and ask a lot of questions.

Owning a clothing store is a decent business, but it is also a great way to lose time and money. I would be the last person to tell you not to do it -- I have had people telling me not to pursue my dreams ever since I could speak well enough to voice them.

One recommendation would be to diversify your store. Accessories nowadays are as popular as the clothes themselves. I am looking at a project involving eyewear that seems interesting. Sell clothes, accessories, and music, and you'll be able to make a decent living (depending on the location, of course).
