My brother owns 3 restraunts and that is a tough business to be in. How long have you been in the field and have you ran a night club before?

I am an I.T. professional by trade (tcp/ip network engineer) over the last three years I have been in the promotions biz promoting events at several venues around town. The particular venue I am seeking to acquire I have been working in over the last year, and have done it all top to bottom, open to close, promotion to booking, inventory to reconciling cash. I also owned and operated a "Crab Shack" last summer and had planned to reopen it this summer but the cost is too high and the crab harvest has been scaled back. I am offered (by the current owner) a great opportunity to own the venue and thus I am seeking an investor to assist with the funding. Did you ever rework your financials to be more realistic?

had everything reviewed by BOA and a Score counselor. They determined that I was on the right track showing costs that were over the actual costs while showing the actual earnings. Because of this confirmation I was able to secure about 2/3 of what is needed. Thanks for your input it really helped.

Hello all!

Yesterday was a great day. I signed the lease and gave the deposit to take over the club. I'll train in the club for the next two weeks with the current GM and get to know the staff and so on. My first big event to kick off new ownership and management will be July 4th I will have a celebrity NBA player celebrate his birthday there along with several of his high profile NBA friends. I have already three solid running nights Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. For now this is enough but I will grow the other two main nights Thursday and Sundy going forward I don't want too much work pressure on consecutive days for me and my staff as of yet. Anyway I wanted to thank everyone here who took the time to read my posts, made replies and contacted me in general. I have learned a great deal to add to the knowledge I previously had, and will again seek advice on things I may have questions about. It feels good to have a club and already have events that have already paid ro the next 3 months lease. I can officially add myself to the "Owners" club and it feels great! So again thank you all again!

I have a friend who has his nightclub on the market for two years with no bites, so I suspect your guys club is facing same issues. With the DWI laws getting tougher and tougher, and with liability insurance through the roof, this is not the business in a recession, never mind good times like ten years ago. It was in the paper the other day, an owner of bar got convicted and jailed because he served someone who went out and got in head on accident, killing herself as well as young Mother, so think long and hard before you go into any business that serves alcohol.

Can't speak for your friend but one thing I've learned about business is that your business is what YOU make it. Thus far it's been great and everything that I hoped. AI and Carmello Anthony will be in MY club on the 4th of JULY I also have radio DJ's bringing in celebs that visit the station a much added bonus. I also believe that there are two industries that are resession proof

hell people drink more when their broke or going there
and don't ask me how they find the money to do it
