Seeking Capitol - Serious inquiries only!

Hello-

My company which I would like to keep anonymous on the thread is seeking an investor for a minimum of $20,000. Please pm me for site details and link!

That being said please let me share a little about our project:

In November 2007, we launched our Network video community. The sites are very similar to youtube, but obviously a different look. Currently, we host over 120 video share sites all under one roof for colleges and universities. Each school is given their own specific site, and all content is related to their school. The sites have video channels for music, sports, comedy, fraternities, around campus, etc...

We launched in November and we approached close to 100,000 page views our first month with NO advertising. In December, we have already topped over 100,000 page views and should hit approximately 150,000 page views and 25,000 unique visitors. Again, this has all been done with no advertising. We have been using forum post and word of mouth to get our site out there.

We realize to gain substantial ground we will need to begin advertising heavily in 2008. This is where the capitol comes in to play. As a start up, myself and two partners have funded this personally.

We are incorporated and are willing to give up 25% of the company for the right investor. All four parties will then have equal share in the company.

Additional information:

We have monetizing means in place across the entire network. Currently, banners placements (By Adbrite) and we have video overlay ads in place on videos (by Scanscout). Currently, our CPM average on the overlay ads have been approximately $10-$20, but does very by day. The overlay ads have been in place for about three weeks, and premium ads are now displaying which have jumped revenues significantly. The adbrite side is a different story as we are more or less giving this banner space away until we can get consistent traffic. We have also built our network in which we can exploit advertising based by school, conference, or full network coverage. We feel this will allow us in the future to fully maximize our space and offer an advertising package for the "small" client and the large client.

Lastly, I do not want to mislead or give a false impression. We are absolutely a startup, but with a great vision and we believe the right network in place. Our current monthly operating expenses are $300 a month.

Bottom line, for every 100,000 "video views" not page views we can drive we project we can make $1K-$3K in revenue. This is based off a CPM on the overlay ads of minimum $10. As we move forward and establish ourselves we can really begin to sell banner space, and revenues can jump significantly. This is something all partners will work on to put the right advertising model in place to entice advertisers.

Please PM with any question or for our site link. Thanks for your time and look forward to hearing from you soon!

Sincerely,

Ashley

Great question! Yes, as we begin to establish our niche and maintain consistent traffic we will sell advertising. For now, all banner space is maintained by adbrite. The main source of revenue will come from overlay ads on the videos. In my post you can see the potential or revenue here with this source of advertising. It is all about driving video views.

Lastly, our entire business plan is not available as it is being finalized, revised, and reviewed by our lawyer. That being said i do have our original rough PP presentation we used initially. it is not much but I think you will see our vision.

I am sending that via email now!

Ashley,

I like what I've seen. Here are a few questions that I have.. you don't need to answer them on here, but you should have them as part of your business plan.

1- How do you plan on spending the invested money (in detail)
* Don't just say advertising
2- You need a complete bio of each owner. What are their skills and what have they done for the company.
3- 2/5 year growth outlook
4- Outline your competitors and how you plan on competing against them.
5- How will the investor be reimbursed for their investment (what is the time frame)

Lastly I looked at the page for OSU and liked what I saw. Do you have a master site where you can search all videos?

Roger

Roger-

I have sent you a PM. Also, will supply some information here as others may have interest. Currently, we do not offer a main content site which rolls all the content into one site. This is something we will do in the future, but we are not there yet. Logistically there are things we face which ave to be overcome on the IT to all ow this to happen.

Some brief info:

All three partners have Master's Degree (Duke and University of Phoenix)
All three work in business development (environment)

The logistics of the deal will be worked through as we move forward.

Let me just stop here and send you an email.

I will also include my number so we can discuss on the phone.

Thanks,

Ashley

I am interested in this investment. Please PM me some more info.

Do colleges have to sign up for this? Or is it just a collection of people from the same colleges that form this video community on your site?

Robert-

Yes our entire business is complete and has been complete. It is in the hands of our lawyer being looked through and finalized.

I believe this is something you suggested we do as well. Luckily, we had already taken this step. The unfortunate part is we are just one of many clients, and we have to wait.

As soon as I have it back I am going to email it out to all the interested parties for yours and their review.

Thanks,

Ashley

Did you have anyone look at the plan before you sent it to your lawyer? I would recommend the SBA or someone in business that you trust. You should always try and get an outside point of view before you submit… wait… why is your lawyer looking at this? It just dawned on me that I’ve never had a lawyer look at one of my business plans. Not that it is a bad thing to do that. I’m just wondering what prompted you to do that.

I’m still very interested in seeing what you all came up with!

Robert-

Great questions! We have had several "business savvy" people look it over. Most of which are close friends or relatives who are entrepreneurs.

The reason for our lawyer overlooking the plan is because he does not just have the plan/concept. He has t&c, privacy, etc...

Due to the nature of our content being User generated we are taking all precautions. Let's face it these days people will sue if you look at them wrong. So we felt it in our best interest to give all documents for review. Let me see what information I can pull out of the plan and send over to you in the short term. It may be just a high level outline, but something which definitely give more insight.

As far as a previous question you had asked about search. We will be incorporating a search that will encompass all sites. So from our hub page or any other site you could search videos and multiple options will appear. So you could be on the OSU site and search a Michigan video and get results and go straight to the video on that particular site. This is an enhancement we will make in the next 30 days.

Thanks,

Ashley

Hello,
Please PM me more information on this Project.
The URL to look at the site.
Furthermore, are you looking $20,000 from one shot from one investor, or it can be 4-5 investors, each putting up $5000 or such.
