One thing though.. this one project in particular would surely be eligible for a business loan.. Preneuraholics Unite - Small Business Funding If this woman was actually in need of this funding, she would definitely be able to take out a small $3,500 loan. It's $3,500.. not $30,000. I have no credit history and I could get a $3,500 loan.

Yes, excelllent suggestion. I've been so embroiled in the glitches and development and timeline I hadn't realized that could be an issue. We'll work on that one right away. Thank you!

You can't assume anything. We don't know her credit score or history. If someone has a bankruptcy in the history (NOT saying this person does), they wouldn't be able to get a loan. Also, loans take weeks. She need the funds pretty quickly.

I'm not going to bash the idea, but I think its a flopped idea as well. I just can't see why anyone deserves a handout. If they need $1,000 for a startup, get a job and earn it.

The purpose of Preneuraholics Unite is not meant to simply give "handouts". I'm sure that misconception has been addressed in these many posts already.

This is meant to create change in a system of funding for small business that so obviously doesn't work for the "little guy". It is meant to help those that have pretty much exhausted traditional sources.

The first posting at Preneuraholics.com is a perfect example of this concept. Government red tape has disqualified them from being able to get a loan for their small business. They have spent 15 yrs and $40,000 of their own money attempting to comply with state regulations. They have continued to move forward with their plans while bootstrapping. They are not lazy "beggars" or young punks with a crazy whim. They are caught in a system that doesn't work.

There is no reason why their fellow friends, neighbors and entrepreneurs nationwide shouldn't help. If we can give a little something because this is a business we believe in and because we are moved by compassion and empathy (been there; done that) then let's help. It can be that simple to make a huge difference. THAT is what Preneuraholics Unite is about.

Bingo. I think you're banging your head against a wall with the people on this forum. None of them seem to read and comprehend the 7 pages of posts. That seems to happen to anyone that posts anything that runs outside the lines of the 'norm'. I think that dead horse has been kicked to death.

I completely understand that. It doesn't change the fact that it's still a handout. If you're business isn't making money, obviously you aren't doing something right and maybe it's time to change it up a bit.

Thank you for your continued support Fanatik. However, I wouldn't say nobody here comprehends. I've gotten plenty of positive feedback and appreciate it. Now, we just need to turn that feedback into ACTION.

I need everyone to help me spread the word about Preneuraholics.com so we get more participants and donors have more choices.

For those that keep bashing... this isn't really a 'new' idea... ie: Kickstarter and others. This concept just twinges on the notion of entreps. helping entreps and not expecting a 'reward' as does Kickstarter... and kickstarter also narrows the field of accepted projects. Just fyi...

why would you make that comparison? preneurholics and kickstarter are completely different...they are the extreme opposites of eachother. kickstart exists to finance society's unfinanceable projects that by their nature don't expect to make a profit. that's the whole point of philanthropy...without things like kickstarter, artists, designers, filmmakers, musicians, journalists, inventors and explorers never get off the ground because their proforma statements are naturally ill designed to show a competitive rate of return

preneurholics, on another hand exists to finance commercial projects. so what would happen if some entrepreneur copies an artist and puts a plan on preneurholics saying "i dunno if this is gonna make money, but it sure looks cool"? how is that an attractive pitch?

What would happen is that person likely wouldn'g get funded (unless of course it truly was an idea that could work anyway). I say again and again in my blog(s) that if you are going request funding you'd better make it a great pitch. You need to not only make it attractive and enticing, you need to show your worthiness and ability to pull it off. Plus you need to provide proof of legitimacy. If somebody posts a weak pitch they are wasting a golden opportunity.

Well I guess it varies by personality. I would rather give to someone/an entity that will take those funds and try to better their entrepreneurial future, which would be better for building their future, their family's future, create jobs, etc. I'm more apt to give to someone in that respect, than someone that 'wants to create music' or 'paint a nice picture'. Kickstarter seems much more 'crunchy' than realistic - but judging by it's success - I'd see that Preneuraholics has promise. You just said it yourself, just in a different way.
