    Liz,
Just an idea. Since your business is based on charity and good will. Do you think it may be worth recruiting a few people (volunteers) in various areas throughout the U.S. who can mentor and guide the entrepreneur requesting donations (The use of skype and other communication based technology can simplify this). Of course the volunteers are providing the mentorship in their extra time. While this may slow down the amount of entrepreneurs receiving funding at a given time it will certainly increase the quality of the concept and may be more productive in assisting the entrepreneur start a viable business. This will work to both combat fraud and guide the entrepreneur in the right path. I'm sure a system similar to this will make donators feel better.

    Crysco,

Great post. As someone who's looking to take advantage of Sylvia's business to request funding, would you be willing to take a look at my business plan to see if it's something that would attract attention? You mention that mentoring would benefit the startup. I'm also planning on donating 5% of my profits back to Preneuraholics if I'm funded, so there's a vested interested from anyone donating to see that I succeed so that I in turn can pay it forward. I'd appreciate it.
    Jim.

Thank you for your suggestion. As I've mentioned previously, I have already spent a few years mentoring and helping folks with their small businesses. With Preneuraholics Unite I want to focus strictly on the funding aspect. Perhaps in time, we can expand to include mentorship.

Jim I am so glad to hear you plan to pay it forward by donating a percentage of your profits to fellow preneuraholics! That's exactly the spirit that will make this concept work.

I want to remind folks that they don't need to wait until they are profitable to donate. Donating to other projects at the time that they request funds is an important part of the concept. It should not pose a hardship to a requestor to donate (for example) $25 to one or two others. This will keep the donations flowing and encourage non-requestors to join the "movement".

    Thank you!

    Preneuraholics.com NOW LIVE!

It's been a long, rough road, but here we are.
Please let me know if you see anything technically "wrong". If you attempt to register and post a project and you have any problems, please email me at info(at)preneuraholics.com or use the contact page of the website.

We already had a couple of people attempt to post prior to the site being fully functional and things got pretty crazy. As such, for now at least, if you post a project I will be notified via email upon payment and I need to manually hit the activation set up. Your posting will not show up instantaneously so don't panic. Not ideal, but I'll work with the programmer for a better set up.

Please let me know if you have any issues or questions or comments!
    Thank you for your patience!!

Glad to see it's live! Now where's Akula? I'm about to donate a few bucks and I'm ready for him to match.

    I love it!

Obviously there's not many projects to choose from yet. It's only been 2 days and launching during the holidays doesn't help...

So pass the word friends! Tweet the link; talk it up to get this rolling.

Donors will want plenty of projects to choose from. So if you're thinking of posting a request for funds, don't wait. Post now.

One thing I saw when looking for projects... they're sorts by the requestors name... maybe it should be a title of the project that we see??? It will give more direction as to what's contained in the post rather than just someone's name. When there are dozens to choose from, as a donor, I dont want to have to look through each single project... if it were more blatantly obvious with a title to see and click on (rather than a name), I would be more inclined to view it.

I agree, sorting the projects by the username tells us nothing.
