New facebook
Hi i have had a few ideas for a while that i have been working on 1 is a new social networking website...facebook and myspace ha..they are so basic they still dont apply to who you are as a user..when i log onto facebook i still have to bring up a second window for i tunes to listen to music, and so on and so on...They are still very basic they have blown up because it makes it possible for any age now to ultimately have there own webpage that can be viewed by anyone in the world..And they say mark is the google eater..lol..2nd Is a new version of t9 typing that maybe uses voice activation....i mean come on don't tell me something is spelled wrong fix it for me capitalize my first word indent when needed so on so on..3rd is a music/video website...If i listen to a certain type of music or a particular song more than once i should be able to do something with it other than add it to a playlist...maybe launch when a certain website is opened and so on and so on....Now i know i need to get a bp together to really be able to do anything or to be able to attract an investor but i am unsure of how to do that..

if you are unsure how to write a business plan, you hav ea long road ahead.
find a person/team to work with asap if you really want to get these things done
the problem you will have with some of your ideas is that when the big boys start to play, they can simply alter what they already have

Not sure what you are talking about as your ideas, but you should probably sit down and map each one out in more detail. The facebook competitor sounds like it might eat up a lot of bandwidth. It would be worth considering how much it would take to launch a site offering that much and then what kind of connection most your users would be dealing with before jumping into programming/launching.

I may be wrong but I think Google has started working with Facebook on some new features
VentureBeat » Google’s sneak attack? Adsense for Facebook
I also believe MySpace is getting ready to open up their code like Facebook did. Both of these are game changers. I’m still unclear as to what you are trying to do… more info please?

ha ya heres some more mindless uneducated rambling for ya...and to clarify what im trying to do, i want to make something that is more beneficial to the user..bottom line..facebook and myspace are so basic...they allow you to create a page that kind of lets people know who you are for free..you can express who you are, what you do, so on and so on..thats whats so great if you have access to the internet you can be seen by virtually anyone in the world..So why not capitalize on this now, give everyone there own web page..make it to where you can learn beneficial information that pertains to you,who you are.and whats going on in the world..you ask most kids who are they voting for in the upcoming election they have no clue..they no nothing about the canidates..put the beneficial information in the profile, give them a fact a day...dont just have a social networking website, capitalize on it all...i still cant change my text on facebook..seriously? I understand why myspace is flopping..the spam, and they dont know how to stop it!!! so ya theres some more mindless rambling from a crazy youngmind..

This is turning into a flame session. Aside from the silliness going on here, there is a good conversation being missed. He is right about the lack in functionality, especially on myspace. He doesn't seem to know Rupert Murdock owns myspace =) but that's OK. I would like you all to take something out of this though, so I think it's worth mentioning that myspace got huge, possibly for it's lack of functionality. What do you guys think, in your opinion, made it blow up like it did? Why was someone willing to go there over geocities and all the older sites that have more functionality? Why are those places ghost towns now and what about just regular places like google? I have an IM there, contact list with who's online, all the stuff I wanna know in mail, news, etc...
Was it the marketing? Was it Tom's dashing good looks? This forum was a chance for a good discussion gone bad. As far as starting your own site, youngminds, what will YOU do to get ahead? I can rent a server, get a decent domain name (which I still haven't found yet) and post some type of software, I can even get decent social networking software for under $200, but it doesn't mean people are going to come to me when all of their friends are elsewhere. What's your angle?

Just a questoin, which person from sharethis.com is your buddy? Is it Tim Shigel? Cuz if it is, he has a venture capital firm and years of experience dealing with near-billion-dollar deals. So why would you be here? Did you mean your friend was from Nextumi?
