Need financing for strong business idea

Thanks for checkin out my post, let me cut to the chase.
This business is happening in Canada and the industry is growing and the demand for food is almost unlimited. I have over 10 years combined experience in the industry, we have a carefully revised business plan and a strong and concise marketing plan and are requiring start up financing before we can go much further.
Welcome to the restaurant delivery industry which should make you think about Takeout Taxi, a profitable franchise in mainly the US.
I know my competitor and the industry significantly and am looking for 25K to start up with another 15K being contributed by my business partner. The loan will be paid very quickly(2 years max) and the terms and interest rates are flexible but I am looking for something reasonable. I definetely want a loan and am not willing to give any shares of the company. The benefits to the investor would be a fast and low risk return with flexible terms and a high return for the risk. Simply put, the way the business makes money is you contract and market for restaurants, act as a middleman and have customers call you, place, pick up and deliver the entire order yourself and then take a pre agreed upon commision of the food sales. I am passionate about business and working with people and failure is not an option in this case.

I am urging any person or company to emphasize with a young entrepreneur looking for startup capital and ask themselves if they are in a position to help one with a solid business plan and the drive, motivation, determination, and strong desire to succeed.

first of all, welcome to the board

nice to see some veterans

this is a debt deal

the franchisor can offer you something, SBA have some loan programs, take an overdraft, max out the cc's, catch a few grand on prosper.com, some trade credit and you're in business

a real financing package :-)

Thanks for the quick response Akula. I will not be getting a franchise from takeout taxi(normally not one for franchise). I will be starting my own from scratch. I will be looking into Canada's small business loans, but am starting to think about backup plans in case the banks decide to turn me down( which I doubt but is more than possible. Do you have any ideas as far as obtaining investors or angels? Any worst case scenario options???
Thanks

Get those words out of your vocabulary. They shouldn't belong in your lexicon as much as "tall'n'leggy" shouldn't belong in mine. These are concepts mismatched with our respective realities.

Yes, you not doing customer surveys because you won't be able to tap customer finance

Your customers are your franchisees. Make them pay you a set up fee. Use the setup fees to set up your business. This is how all franchise shops get started - which is why they're a great deal - for the franchisor that is :-)

p.s. if you must, search the forum for "angels"

e.g. What do Investors Expect?

This thread should answer all your questions - but I'm posting the link because of my enormous ego. In practical terms, the indepth scientific analysis on the issue is of no consequence to you.
