mpCinema

Hi everyone,

Firstly, let me introduce myself. My name's David, I currently live in the U.K. and I'm looking for £500k of investment for my idea. I'm aware this is an American site and of the exchange rate, however, I'm not sure if prices for the various things I need the investment for are of the same price in the States, so I'll keep it at £'s for this.

So, why do I need £500k? Quite simply, it is to start, launch and promote mpCinema. So, first question: What's mpCinema? We're all aware of what a Cinema (or Movie Theatre) is. As simply put as possible, mpCinema will be an Online Cinema. mpCinema will show the latest film releases via streaming. For a fee equivocal to $5, somebody can watch a film in the comfort of their own home.

I've spent many hours trawling through the internet looking for a LEGAL site that does this and found nothing so far and am quite shocked no-one has done this. In an age where every part of human aspect is making it's way onto the Internet, a Cinema online seems the next logical step in the Film Industry.

If you're interested and would like further details and a detailed business plan, feel free to e-mail me at davidrossjones AT live DOT co DOT uk. Please, only serious Investors. I welcome all constructive feedback on this idea and thank you for taking the time to read this.

Kind Regards,

David Jones.

How do you plan to acquire the movies and legally redisplay them?

I second the question of acquiring the movies and legally streaming them. The cost of negotiating a contract with a major studio could easily run into the $10s of thousands of dollars. Not to mention the expense of developing or licensing the streaming technology. I think the idea is wonderful, but the plan to do it for $1000 is just not realistic. But please give me more details and prove me wrong. All you can do is build a better case for your idea by dispelling what I've written.

Hi,

O.K. firstly, where does it say 1k? I put 500k, not 1k. Secondly, legal costs of acquiring a film come out of the earnings, and all films are 'leased' on an earnings ratio, so the cost to the Exhibitor is minimal.

I've contacted the Big Six and all are very interested in this project.
