Los Angeles Directory Portal Help Please

Hi, I'm Orange County SEO Expert and Congressional Award Recipient Steve Wiideman. I own about 20 different small websites and will be launching my first major portal in July of 2006. The site is called The LA Directory.

I've paid approximately $3,000 thus far on a directory script and custom code to integrate the directory with my website's CMS. Programming completion is scheduled for early July.

The site will offer the following when completed:
  1. Los Angeles Business Directory
  2. Free Classifieds
  3. Dating Module to Meet LA People
  4. SEO Optimized Articles (ie Things to Do in LA)
  5. An Events Calendar for Los Angeles
  6. Los Angeles Web Forum
  7. Interactive Content (drawings, polls, etc)

Outside of getting more people to help me write content, I'm looking for project funding to help me market this new site to residents and businesses in Los Angeles. TV, Radio, Flyers, AdWords, MSN or Yahoo! campaign, MySpace Campaigns, etc.

My B2B marketing strategy is to offer a FREE listing in The Los Angeles Directory. Once the business owner has completed the signup form they're given an option to add a link back to their website for only $39 [flat]. For recurring profit we solicit to subscribers to pay $199 for sponsored ads within the website.

My P2P marketing strategy is to promote the free classifieds and the free dating (meet people) module, as well as write SEO-driven webpages to drive massive amounts of traffic to the portal. Subscribers may then click on affiliate ads or click through to affiliated websites who pay us a commission (ei: real estate brokers, travel companies, ticket resellers, etc).

I don't have a B2C strategy, but maybe eventually I'll sell retail items like TheLADirectory.com t-shirts and mugs.

Anyway, if you're interested, please shoot me an e-mail. I'm pretty easy to find, just Google steve wiideman or visit www.stevewiideman.com.

Thanks in advance for your time and interest.

Thanks Mud, I let my programmer know. He's monkey-wrenching the entire configuration of Xoops to make the directory integrate with the CMS. I'm a hardass when it comes to what I want and he's been instructed to not only make this dynamic site function with my $700 php directory script from http://www.freephpdirectoryscript.com/Full/. While at the same time insuring that all of the URLs are static so they can be indexed by Google. Thanks for looking out.
