Looking for investor/partner for new website idea

So I have an idea for a new a couple new websites that I feel could be very successful with the right promotion and design. I am looking for someone (or a few) who can either put forth money, or web design skills.

If you are interested in either please PM me so I can provide you with further details.

    Thanks!

Posts like this come to the forum every day. You need to distinguish yourself from the rest of the pack by making sure you sell yourself.

You have told us what you want from a partner, what do you bring to the table? Do you have a business plan?

Additionally some details on your plan would be helpful. How do I know if interested in your project without an brief overview?

    ------------------- Edit

This is a form letter meant to help you improve your post and thereby improve your response. Please keep in mind that many posts, probably just like this one come through here every day asking for money or business partners. This quick form is for others to fill in and is meant to allow people to identify areas that posts commonly lack. This form is meant mostly to point out the flaws in the post, not to award credit for what is done right. Please don't take it personally.

    How to read this:
    • [ ] This is not a box I think applies to you
    • [x] This is something that I think applies to you.

    I think your idea...
    • [ ] Is good
    • [ ] Is bad
    • [X] Not well articulated
    • [ ] Is to generic, you need more of a niche market
    • [ ] Has been done and hasn't succeeded (Please see post description section)
    • [ ] Has been done and worked, so expect a lot of experience
Ideas come and go, and do not let anyone discourage you from continuing your idea despite what it said here. However if your idea is not received well it would be foolish to not follow up (civilly please) and ask for suggestions.

    I think this post..
    • [ ] IS YELLING AT ME.
    • [X] Lacks significant detail
    • [X] Is not selling your idea well
    • [X] Is not selling you, as a business partner well
    • [ ] Is hard to read (spelling errors, grammar, l33t speak)
    • [ ] Is asking for a lot of money
    • [ ] Smells like a Nigerian scam
    • [ ] Doesn't specific if your looking for VC, Partner, equity partner
These items are discussed more in a later section. If they are just a quick check box for your reading convenience. Keep in mind everyone who comes through this forum thinks their idea is the next million dollar idea. It may be but you will need to convince the readers.

    I think your business proposition...
    • [X] Is missing a business plan
    • [ ] Is missing market research (and a plan to do so)
    • [ ] Is making outrageous claims
    • [ ] Is making claims that violate the laws of physics/nature/chemistry/common sense (its been done before)
You need to have a good description of your business in your post. People are more likely to PM you if you have details to let them know your

idea is something they would be interested in. Oh and make sure what your claiming is possible because being called out on such a blatant error is embarrassing.

I think this post's comments with regards to you....
    • [X] Are non-existent
    • [X] Provides no past business experience
    • [X] Provides no past niche experience
    • [ ] Provides no indication of being able to meet in real life (mostly important if your asking for large sums of money)
    • [X] Provides little to no details about your skills.
If your going to attract a partner selling yourself is as important as selling your idea. Why can we trust you? What do you bring to the table?

    Extra Comments:
Your post lacks details, mot of the responses you will likely get from a good post will just be curious people with a small number serious about partnering up. A post lacking details won't get much response from the people you really want to work with.

    Good luck with your idea.

Very well put. You've really made me rethink the way I post. The truth is I hastily threw together this post, simply expecting to get a reputable member to PM me, someone I could trust with my idea. I didn't want to reveal too much about my idea, however I provided no details. This is no way for me to attract potential investors/partners.

A little about myself. I am 18 years old, currently residing in Pennsylvania. Beginning at the age of 16 I began developing a huge interest in becoming entrepreneur. I have launched several websites since then, 1 of which has been quite successful, and another that is under development. These websites have taught me priceless lessons.

I have formulated several ideas for new websites which I think have the potential to be successful. I have not yet developed a full business plan due to the fact that I don't know if others will find this idea to be successful. I do have a basic outline done though.

My first website will be a user generated content site dealing with clothing, that will gain income from both traditional advertising and affiliate marketing. I will provide more specific details at a later time.

My second idea is a classified type website, which matches users looking for work with people who want cheap work done. There are websites like this, but I assure you, this idea is unique when I give you more details.

I have several other ideas, but these are my priorities.

I am going to need around a $1000 investment to get this website designed and for advertising.

From personal experience I am going to have to believe it will be much more than $1000. I'd aim for at least 5k to begin with (unless you plan on doing the coding yourself and spending the money on advertising only).

That is just my experience with these types of sites. People have done it for much less, and others have paid much more. It depends on how you approach the design process.

Of course $1000 WILL get you a functional website, whether that is going to be marketable or not is what I'm questioning.

Thanks. I've got a bid for $400 that seems pretty promising for the design. I don't have to pay anything until I approve of the design as well, so I am going to see how this goes, and if I don't like it I may have to spend some more.
