Looking for investor/business partner to produce sports cars (14,000 Euro needed)

Hello, it's my first topic here. First, let me introduce myself. I'm a Bulgarian car designer and chassis engineer with interest into the sports cars field. In 2002 I had a sports car project with my own design and one of my friends invested $3,000, but unfortunately later he cheated me and stole the unfinished car. During the last 5 years I worked as freelance car designer and CAD engineer for various customers, and I think it's time to start my own business as manufacturer of exotic sports cars.
The low average salary in my country don't allow me to start the development of my new concept car with my own budget. That's why now I'm looking for investor, business partner or customer who is willing to invest in my project. The first car I want to produce may be in either turnkey (drivable car) or kit/component car (all parts less the engine, transmission and other OEM donor parts). The kit/component car requires lower investment and development period (14,000 Euro and 7-9 months), while the turnkey version will take 12-18 months and will cost more (18-19,000 euro + the engine, transmission, wheels, and all other OEM parts included in the prototype). My new project is called Diabla. That term is well known anywhere and means "woman devil", "nasty girl" or "women domineering over the men", but also it's close to the well known Lamborghini Diablo. Although my Diabla is 100% original, it has proportions that are close to some Lamborghini models and is especially made to take part on the kit/component car market and beat all replicas of Diablo, Gallardo and Murcielago. I have some fresh engineering ideas that I will use in the chassis and bodywork, so it will be something like a little revolution in the kit/component car business. I take care about the quality in all aspects, and one of the things that often lacks in most sports cars are the reliability and active rust protection. Not to mention that I already have good contacts with several crafty men that are ready to join in my team when I need them. The most important of them are the composite guy and the MIG/TIG welder, both are very skilled and has long experience in their fields. Most sports cars has only passive rust protection (layer of protective paint), but it's a must to have active protection, too. Active rust protection means all those special panels that has special design which helps to redirect the water in the wheel wells and under the body away from the chassis and suspension. The combination of skilled men and special engineering features will guarantee unmatched finish quality and safety, which is impossible for most of the companies at this specific market.
I also intend to use custom made glasses (a Bulgarian company called "BG Glass" will produce them for good price), as I want to make the design as perfect as possible and I don't want to be limited from some OEM donor glass with poor shape. Remember the design is 50% (or even more) responsible for the success of every sports car. Also, the custom made glasses with our own shape will protect us from illegal copying (one of the biggest problems for most kit/component car manufacturers especially in the US).
I made several designs for the exteror, with different lights, bumpers, side skirts, hood, door glasses etc. I know everyone has its own taste, so the exterior components can be used together in various combinations, in order to satisfy buyers' wishes. I also has many other designs that I'm ready to develop later as more serious and expensive turnkey cars (when gain enough profit from the Diabla kits), so it will be easy to complete with the most exclusive sports cars on the planet.

There are 4 major ways to do business together:

1. You and I can become business partners 50:50 in the new company. You take care about the investment, I will do everything from design, plug building, molds making, chassis building, etc...

2. You can be my re-seller in some country/es (US, UK, etc...) and invest in the development of my project, then I will deliver them for preferable prices only for you. This means very attractive discount of the price, so you will gain good profit selling them. And you will have the exclusive rights to sell my cars in your location(s) /I will sell them only in different locations/.

3. You can invest in my project and gain double refund in 12-18 months. I will start selling my component/kit cars and will send you several payments until I cover my part of the deal and double your investment.

4. You can be my first customer who is willing to prepay the development. Since the development cost (14,000 Euro) is bigger than the projected price of the next Diabla kits (9,000 Euro), I will compensate you with a second Diabla kit, i.e. you will get 2 Diabla kits for 14,000 Euro total (instead of 18,000 Euro). I also can compensate you with third Diabla kit if you add extra 4,000 Euro, i.e. you will get 3 Diabla kits for 18,000 Euro total (instead of 27,000 Euro). Thus, you will be able to resell them later and gain good profit for engine, transmission and other parts to finish your project.

You are welcome to visit my website diabla.org where you can find more information about the project. It's pity that today everyone copy from others, and this industry is not exception. That's why I posted only several design concepts of my Diabla project, although the final design is better. I have some other versions that looks different, but I keep them in secret as I want to protect my designs for being copied before I make them as real cars.
I also posted some other renderings of my previous work, although most of my customers wanted me to keep their projects under secret until their cars are ready for the market.
Today I just uploaded a short video with still images of my Diabla concept. You can watch it at YouTube: watch?v=dcuGm66gCag

Thank you for your time and I will be glad to hear your opinion about my project. Who knows, maybe we can even work together.

Kind regards,

Bobi Angeliev

PS: My price is shown in Euro, because I live in the European Union and all prices of materials, tools, equipment and all other expenses are linked to the Euro. But I also can work with other currency (USD, GBP, etc) if the sum is equal to 14,000 Euro.

Am i right in assuming that one can design and build a car like this and get it passed by the various governing bodies regarding safety issues and make a profit.I am truelly amazed and i also own a Panther Kallista 2.9 injection and they have since gone out of business about 10 years back as they over stretched themselves trying to bring a new car to the market.

I wish you all the very best for your new venture.

Do you see any problems importing the car and get it approved in The Netherlands and Germany, where the regulations and safetyrules/level are very high?

Hi, thank you for your comment. I design cars in entire my live and I don't want to sound like a boaster but actually I can do very impressive and modern concepts, design chassis, suspension, body panel trimming and assembly, etc. I can't build a turnkey car alone as there are some skills that I still have to learn (fiberglass/carbon fiber composites, engine mechanics, electricity, MIG/TIG welding), but together with some crafted men in my area I can do it right. With my skills I can do (unassisted) the 3D CAD model and chassis, then build the real-size plug for the molds. On that stage my composite guy will join to me, in order to produce the exterior molds and lay up the body panels. Then the welder will help me to build the chassis (I can weld but I prefer to leave this to some professional with longer experience). I have contacts with car mechanics, electricians, etc..., so it's not a problem to build drivable car.
With regards to Panther, I can't comment such cars as I know more about the exotic sports cars. But most of the sports car makers failed because they had uninteresting design, and sometimes the lack of quality was another nail in their chest. One of the ways to success in the exotic car arena is to learn others' mistakes and try to not follow them. That's why I'm sure that my project won't fail like many others and will gain big interest (profit) when it's finished.

Thanks,

Bobi angeliev

With my knowledge about the chassis design and body panels assembly I honestly can't see any problem to pass even the most strict regulations for such sports cars. I'm sure my chassis can achieve great results in a simulated crash test. First I care about the safety and then for anything else. I also have my own way of body assembly with special soft mounting points that eliminates big part of the vibrations and noise, and protects the body from being damaged in these areas.

Best regards,

Bobi Angeliev
