ello everyone My name is Ben Talarico I used to have a form up about the club/bar well I've done more research on the topic and found that it would be a little bit better to do a juice bar style club at first for at least the first year to help establish an image before we switch to the having alcoholic beverages. I figure why get trapped in the alcohol game if we can make our money with out having it. The idea I now have is to have it be 18 and up. On selected nights we'll have it to be 21 and up and your drinking. The place on which I want to locate the bar at is Ames, Iowa. Home of Iowa State University, The reason why I chose this location is that there is only bars up there which you have to be 21 or older to get into. They need something for the younger crowd also there is also a high school located in Ames so you figure with a club so close you can get the attention of both the high school kids and college kids. I've also thought about having a night which it is like high school night have it be under 21 just for the safety of the younger kids, I want this establishment to be fun and safe for all ages. I've been working my butt off on the business plans for the last 6months and I now have the rouch est. done. I do not have the plan done with the real figures yet because of two locations on which I've been spending a great deal looking at because you have to remember location is the key. I've also done some submitting to MTV for their newest tv show "First Year" the new show talks about things from young mothers trying to get through school and up to young people trying to get started in the working world with their own business, so I'm hoping that I get at least looked at for this. I'm looking at trying to get this up and running or at least to the point in which I can then start planning out everything by February 1st. Also the club that I'm trying to establish will hopefully bring celebs because of the musical acts that perform here in ames. also with this I'm hoping that with the money I can also have live bands play, have my own concerts, maybe even freestyle rap battles for money, dance battles so if anyone is interested in being a silent partner or even wanting to help me out a bit please feel free to call my cell or email me.

hmmm i live in ames and it could be a decent idea just for the fact that there are plenty of bars here in town but they are all pretty much the same.

Id be interested in hearing more but i am not looking to be a investor in this. Got my own bag of beans that i need to deal with right now and all my money in tied up into it

hey i have done lots of research on this. and it keeps pointing to the pos parts. ive done surveys, ive done my hw on this project. even though my whole business plan getting finished and everything is like 2% of the total work involved. if i could have alcohol and kids under 21 together in the same place with out having to be a resturant duing the day i would. but i cant get around the laws (as of right now) but ill find my loop hole in the law and when i do ahh its on like donkey kong lol.

These pop up in Spokane, WA every summer - about 2-3 of them open and then fail months later because of fights/underage drinking/etc. - gotta be careful with this. Kids don't know how to act - catering to 21 over is easier because they have to take responsibility for themselves and the bar isn't usually blamed.

ya that is a very true statement about the no how to act. what ive been plannin on doing for the last 6 months ive been working over time on this. and the club is going to be located in a college based town with around 21,000+ people. they have 1 highschool in the town also. now you figure iowa state is a 4 year college alot of people come in as 18. so i figure 18 19 for freshmen 19 20 for spho and 20 for like half of junior year. so i figured that i can make my money off the underage kids. plus i plan to have special acts such as live bands, dj contest for money, and freestyle rap contest for money. ames iowa is also known for holdin its big concerts so i figure if i get it to be nice enough i can maybe even get celebs to come in and stop by. but ya any who. thanks for all the good feed back if anyone has any tips hit me up im looking in all directions on this i want it to be great. so anything less then 100% isnt gunna cut it.

Stay away from the rap battles - I was throwing those on a weekly basis in the Inland Northwest and it ended with a lot of violence, police, and me needing to be in court for about 15 days in January to testify against the perps. DJ battles would be better - rap battles attract a bad crowd and it will always turn violent, ALWAYS - trust me on this.
