oh, I'm sorry I must have misread your other post....

3. Asking for donations on campus (already tried, didn't go so well )
4. Contacting businesses that may benefit from my site and trying to sell future traffic?
5. Pitching the proposal locally and in person to an investor?

I'm sorry, I'm really at a loss..... aside from those first two in the other post, these all seem like a stretch....

alright so now I'm ready for your answer!

okey dokey..i'll continue talking with you, but this is a discussion..it's you who has the financing problem, i'm here to help you arrive at a solution..and we're not doing this to hear my answers, but to motivate you to find your own answers

ok..so if you follow the research all startup businesses (with a few very minor exceptions) are bootstrapped by their founders. so, when you think of financing, you're not just thinking of one option, you're thinking of multiple options that you can use to make up your financing package, and if you're responsible, you'll structure a package with the lowest cost of capital

anyhow, the most common options (100% of startups are financed this way) that comprise a financing package are;
1. savings (one or more person)
2. credit cards (one or more person)
3. customer finance (multiple customers)
4. trade credit (multiple suppliers)
5. barter/joint ventures

How are you gonna use these options to finance your company?

I agree, you just seemed so mysterious I had to hear your answers!

well I offer a free service to US citizens, a service that could almost be considered non-profit, except it's not, I'm going to earn revenue from ads. so I guess I could try and get funding through donations, but I need the funding to drive traffic to my site, so I'm kind of stuck there...

savings and credit cards are not an option anymore :P

I don't know what trade credit is, I'm assuming it has something to do with products, which I don't have.

and I am looking into some joint ventures with other websites to try and gain traffic if thats what you mean.
